He's canonically a logia. The fact that he's not impervious to normal attacks like other logias doesn't change that. Unless Oda is wrong again? I think Forik is talking about the fact that he has 2 fruits? That wouldn't dismiss the fact that he is a logia user though. Even if he is both paramecia and logia, he would still be logia. It's not really a refutal. right, he has BOTH
so is hes a paramecia AS MUCH as he is a logia, 50/50
Blackbeard is no doubt a capable individual, and quite cunning with more then one mans worth of balls, but if we look ONLY at his battle using his fruit and we dont really see anything special, just absorb and eject if we compare if to Logia users who can avoid haki attacks its not as impressive
maybe instead of competent the proper term would have been outstanding though

As amazing as it is, Forikorder is actually right. Blackbeard is just as much of a paramecia as he is a logia.

Yeah wow.
It was kind of a non sequitur though.

Yeah, but lets follow his line of reasoning first.

Therefore Blackbeard is half paramecia and half incompetent.

Yeah, but lets not get carried away by a single line of being factually correct out of context.. Lets follow his line of reasoning.

Therefore Blackbeard is half paramecia and half incompetent. Discuss

It seens the statement "only competent logias are admirals" actually meant "the only competent logias are the admirals" this is false. However, its not clear if being a competent logia is a requirement to be an admiral.
Much like Jesus is supposed to be both man and god and not half man and half god, Blackbeard is both Paramecia and Logia. There is no reason to believe he lost half of his logia type when he became a paramecia, or to believe he only gained half paramecia power.
Blackbeard is a logia. Blackbeard is competent. Blackbeard is not an admiral.
"only competent logias are admirals" false. "hes a paramecia as much as he is a logia" true. "Therefore Blackbeard is half paramecia and half incompetent" false. -_-
He asked.
edit: @ Elementos: true.

Fujitora is an admiral and pretty clearly not a logia. Garp was offered to become an admiral and doesn't have a fruit at all. Sengoku was an admiral and he's a zoan. But I'm sure being competent is required.

That's actually something that pissed me off about the original three admirals: they were all the same body type and had logia fruits. Like what an unlikely coincidence that these three dudes that look exactly the same and had similar fruits all wound up joining the navy and becoming the same rank. And now he almost did the same thing with fuji except his fruit ain't a logia (thank god). Just pure laziness on oda's part.
|
feels like they got trained in some elite training by marines and they all became really capable enough for admiral status? But the biggest flaw is the 3 admiral limit which doesnt make sense whatsoever in the fact that all vice admirals so far are complete fodder which is completely inconsistent

Wat. They all had their diff body builds. Sure at times you can say Oda drew their proportions similarly to show a bit of uniformity (think back at Marineford when Luffy attacked the 3 and they were just standing there). But those 3 dudes had clear variations between their bodies.

They all have very similar body types especially considering the widely varied body types in one piece. Long thin legs, similar torso, same arm lengths, same height. One might be slightly more lanky than the other, but that's about it. Much like how all beautiful women in One Piece have the exact same body with minor alterations, so were the three admirals.

Its almost like Oda was going for a theme with the Admirals..... I bet next people are going to start saying the original cast of Shichibukai were all lazy on Oda's part for all having animal motifs.

Although I would like at some point to have an explanation on why he feels that some characters randomly have to be 10 feet tall while the main character is like a regular human.

Its because in One Piece's world, some people are really fucking tall. What else is there to explain? Maybe he should explain why Brook is like 10ft tall, or where Chopper gets the extra body mass from when he changes form, or how Franky could remodel himself into a Cyborg after literally getting hit by a train and having his body broken?

I was talking about the artist's perspective. Like, why he decided that some humans (and pretty much only important ones) are just that fucking tall, outside of giants. No need to get so aggrevated, jeez.

Look, you can't say "I mean from an artisitic perspective, why are X people in the story like X in the story?" Since the question definitely isn't following the first part. The Admirals look they way they do, because Oda wanted them to look that way. Given they are all based on Japanese Actors, given they are all super tall, they all have the same naming scheme, it seems to me like they are matching a mold he wanted for them as a group.

You've answered your own question. ;D

Nevermind though, it's not that important.

Its so that when the main characters are standing next to them, and they are twice as tall as them, they look that much more intimidating.
