Like in order to be a Maine admiral all you need to be is lanky, 7 feet tall, and have the face of an actor, experience be damned. Fujitora proved this when he was literally recruited into the position, with no prior experience, beating out a dozen vice admirals who have been with the navy for decades.

Or Blackbeard, would he be half as scary if he was a short hairy fat man (likely to be played by Danny DeVito I'd imagine.) I mean One Piece's style also lend's itself to completely outlandish proportion, but it helps to have your Big Bags actually be Big, unless theres another purpose to have them be small. I mean look at the Yonkou, Big Mom and Kaidou are fuckin' gargantuan 'cause they're some of the biggest of the big bads! | ||

Good episode, but a poorly paced one given they couldn't make any interesting filler with it. When they can expand on fight scenes or add funny dialogue it's great, but usually one chapter for one episode is simply not enough. | ||

Though I imagine like luffy and zoro who regularly coats their attacks with haki against tough opposition(even those who aren't doflamingo or admiral level they still usually do it ) then Sanji will probably do the same as well. While Sanji is part of the monster trio of SH i think he's not as strong as Luffy/Zoro like there's somewhat of a gap. Pretty big assumption there that Sanji didn't use Haki in either of those encounters. Since to start with, we know he can use it. Its been stated by Luffy in-manga that he can, and Oda out-of-manga that he can. Secondly, the normal visual queues for Haki use just don't apply to Sanji. To start with, Sanji's pants are black, so in the case with Vergo, his leg is indeed black. Is it from Haki, or just the color of his pants? No way to tell. It would only make senes that he was, since why else would he not? Or in the case of Doflamingo, it was while using Diable Jambe, where his leg is super-heated and on fire, again preventing us from seeing the normal visual queues if he was using Haki or not. Short version is that while we don't know if he was using Haki in those two circumstances, we know that he can, and we know that it wouldn't make sense for him to not. | ||

Another explanation is that Sanji's focus is not on armament Haki. IIRC there was an SBS a while back where Oda was asked what each of the monsterous trio specialized in. Luffy specialized in Conquerors, Zoro in Armament, and Sanji in Observation. Which would mean that perhaps Sanji's Armament Haki might be weak, but his Observation is extremely strong. And considering that in both the situation with Doflamingo and Vergo he was able to get there at the last second to make a save against them both, his Observation Haki is doing work. | ||

I don't know if being weaker than Vergo or Doflamingo means you are weak. seriously Luffy needed to go all out and have an army of mooks in order to beat him | ||
