On one hand, if Shanks loses to these guys, I'm going to be disappointed. Shanks was hyped so much so to have him get killed by a couple of rookies seems off. At the same time it'd be disappointing if Kidd and them all just got rekt since they are supposed to be the new generation and Luffy's rival for finding one piece. Either way its going to be bitter sweet. | ||

That's 4 huge bounties. Law was only at 440 when he became a Shichibukai, who are supposed to be hugely powerful. So you're looking at an alliance that has at least one guy considered a bigger threat than a shichibukai as well as three other big powers. Combined, they're a threat to Shanks, and the Kidd alliance destroying the Red-Haired pirates would put Luffy on a collision course with Kidd, who was set up to be the rival in Shabondy. | ||

Of course, when the WG is making bounties, stronger pirates will naturally feel more threatening, but it's not the only factor involved. | ||

If Kidd is mastered his Devil Fruit, there's a chance of him repelling people like he do with metallic materials since blood possess iron. This can also make his aim to take down Shanks more realistic. | ||

For now: Luffy = Shanks Law = Whitebeard Kid = Kaido Shanks (Luffy) and WB (Law) is good on terms and helps each other when its matter. While Kaidou (Kid) hates everything just like Kid. He even tried to stop Shanks when Shanks was going Marineford. | ||

I feel like we would've met this secret badass earlier in the series though, I think that's part of how Oda does his story: shows us sweet characters before we realize who they really are. | ||

Not to mention the other admirals, shichibuaki he might fight along the way etc. Kaido is far from being the final boss imho. | ||

I think that either Blackbeard or the Gorosei will be the final boss, just with how the series has ramped up so far. I wouldn't want the final boss to be anything but someone who has had a huge impact on the series so far. Furthermore, Blackbeard and Luffy butted heads from close to the very beginning - long before Kaido even entered the picture. It just wouldn't feel interesting to have Kaido be the final boss since we don't know a thing about him, but that might just be me. Luffy has incentives to fight the World Government or Blackbeard. | ||

I mean sanji and them are supposedly captured by her but who knows since we haven't seen them in forever. I agree though that Kaido being the final boss wouldn't have the same impact and personal connection as black beard being the final boss. However, kaido is billed as being the strongest person in the world, so luffy can't defeat him too early otherwise that label loses all its meaning. | ||
