A point to consider is that thus far, Luffy has maintained haki on his arms and legs the entire time in gear fourth. Even when moving from the top of the hill down to the town where he knocked Doflamingo to. A lot of haki based attacks/defenses we've seen so far have generally been a momentary usage of haki, aside from Vergo I suppose (more or less an armament haki specialist). Not that we've seen a huge amount of depicted haki usage - pre-timeskip it was more or less invisible/didn't have a drawn effect on the few occasions it did come up. However, Luffy did have a haki defense from Doflamingo's last attack to his torso, even though he didn't appear to have haki active there previously in contrast to Vergo's 'always on' style.
Gear fourth initially seems to be based on combining Luffy's devil fruit and haki so that both are usable at once. So if there were a 'limit' it might be linked to how long Luffy can maintain his haki without a break. We already had his devil fruit be a limiting factor (chibi Luffy after gear third, which he seemed to overcome) so haki proficiency seems like it'd be the next limiting factor to overcome.
Goku had to spend the equivalent of a few years in the hyperbolic time chamber before he could more or less keep super saiyan up at will. Good thing for Doflamingo that Luffy hasn't had a chance to train his haki usage for two years straight.

Ok i give you that, and all the rockets Frarnky built and all the shit those old guys nami encounter during the 2 year time skip too, but how is any of those put a dent on the differences in technological advances between earth bound and space travel?

It's a typical Kabuki stance. Google it. (which itself probably originates from some even older mythology)

I thought the anime was made for kids O.O
You can clearly see Delinger pierce Suileman(sp?) with his horns, there are holes and blood depicted o.o

Ace and Whitebeard died in the anime too and the blood itself was not censored. They did censor some things like Whitebeard's face being destroyed, but still plenty of blood and wounds. Two little holes and blood is fine.
