I dunno, it was more in reference to Whitebeards quake punch that split Marineford in half. Wasn't enough to knock out Akainu. And that's the kind of opponents Luffy will have to face EoS. So his destructive power should allow him to do that (even though good guy Luffy wouldn't ever go around destroying islands if he can avoid it, obviously).

the destruction is not directly porpotionate to how strong his attack is

Luffy looks pretty sweet. It's an interesting fighting style with air compression too.

But hey, at least he totally rekt Akainu's kidney.
Anyways, I think at his greatest strength Luffy would be able to destroy an island but he won't (need to?) ever do it. Kinda like Goku being able to destroy planets easily but never doing it, you know. Kinda thrilled to see how many more tricks he has up his G4 sleeve. Maybe he'll combine it with red hawk and have giant burning fists of destruction.

What do you even mean by "destroy an island"? Do you mean destroy all the buildings on an island or kill everyone that's on the island? Perhaps you mean sink the island somehow? Luffy's power isn't really meant for altering terrain. Pica and Whitebeard could do that because they were able to directly alter large landmasses but Luffy has a more down to earth (hurr) kind of power. I'm sure if he took his time he could use his elephant gun to smash a bunch of buildings but why would he want to do that?

SHIIIEEEET THOSE SICK CANNONS!!!
G4 looks pretty cool and silly. Luffy bouncing of the ground was funny.
That midair direction change was also nice, probably using those arms compressions to change direction, dunno.
This form has a very Bellamy vibe to it.

Luffy looks so stupid ahah. Hope he does not use this form too often.
|
Gomu gomu no CULVERIN!
I guess Gear 4 does unlock with haki.

Lmao weird looks but still fucking awesome :3 Oda so godlike.
That dropkick tho.

So Zoro and the samurai are going to try to stop the birdcage, but Zoro's leading... Surely even he can't get lost right? The birdcage is everywhere, right? ...Shit.

Nightmare Luffy is back boys and he is going to spring shit up.
Bellamy sempai would be proud to see that if he wasn't knocked out

Bellamy wouldent be able to see him.

Fluffy op. He looks like he would have beat doffy even without all the sustained injuries. Next chapter, oda will show the abilities weakness.

I'm fine with G4 looking silly, I'm just worried about it becoming the "new Luffy." When Goku achieved super saiyan he pretty much was in that form forever. After like 5 episodes of straight fighting, you'd forget what original goku looked like and would just picture him as dude with spiky blonde hair. G4 Luffy looks cool... but I feel like his form will get very old very fast. It's like Franky and his over-sized arms. If Luffy starts fighting all his battles looking like a fat king kong then, bleh, they're going to start wearing on me and probably many others.

The question is, will G4 become his new bounty picture?

The G4 must either be exhausting or have some other drawback. otherwise is kinda pointless for Luffy not using it from the start. Every time Goku fought someone strong he always went straight into his most powerfull form.

This isnt true at all o.o He even deliberatly hid from everyone that he had accessed ss3 at almost wasted their chance to stop Buu.
EDIT: You and I must have watched very different DBZ's o.o
