See this is where it get sort of retcon-ish. Hitsugaya through out the series has been one of the more active captain and has probably revealed his bankai and used it the most. In most of his fight, he got his ass handed when he goes bankai. If his bankai is strongest at the last petal, why didnt he just stall his bankai until the last petal drop to not get his ass handed? Would it had not been a good time to use it against Aizen?
Also, anyone else remember Hitsugaya when his bankai got stolen, he clearly stated himself that his bankai only increase the amount of ice produced? Thus his power lvl didnt change much even though it was stolen which he then introduced the whole vacuum ice concept against fire guy.

i think we can agree kubo just wants to keep fans in suspense and bring in the revenue by adding more details and stuff into the story, constantly dragging out the whole thing, this arc has gone on for almost 200 chapters alr, just about 1/3 of the entire manga. so whether or not it contradicts other previous parts in the story may be irrelevant to him

do you know how long ago that vaccum thing is? do you seriously expect kubo to remember such crap? ^^

Kubo is what happens if you take anime tropes to extremes.

Bleach wiki:
"During some appearances of his Bankai, three flowers of ice form floating behind him, each consisting of four purple petals shaped like diamonds.[175] These flowers melt away, petal by petal, as Hitsugaya's battle progresses, leading Shawlong Koufang to speculate that Hitsugaya's Bankai will deactivate when all twelve petals disappear, assuming that the captain's Bankai was incomplete due to his young age."
It was only ever a speculation by one of the arrancar...but I remember watching the anime and they laid it on thick!

Ya I brought this up on the last page. But when you actually read the chapter, Hitsugaya acts exactly as if it were true.
In one of his fights he beats the guy with one petal left and literally says to *himself* 'Just in time'.

Clearly Kubo is setting up to explain that Hitsugaya can't control this form, hence why he doesnt want to use it/wants to avoid it.
The only time gerard has responded in this arc is when he has been trapped... so I see a super freeze just putting him "on ice" as it were.
EDIT: What I just said shows consistency so it will never happen. In before hitsugaya and byakura join petals to beat enemy with flower power!

sounds legit, the senbonzakura slices and dices while hitsugaya freezes the petals of the senbonzakura. this causes opponent to freeze internally and shatter from the inside. gg

One thing is almost for sure though, Byakuya will have an upgrade to his bankai, no way he's sitting on his ass not doing anything during this fight. Time to try to guess the power up, guys.
|
I mean I thought it was always assumed that Hitsugayas bankai was incomplete. I know this is kinda bullshitty but (as usual) its not nearly as bad as you guys are making it out to be.

petals so small that they can get into the quincy's spores and destroy him from within!!

this is important.
didnt they say something about coming back stronger than ever when the 0 squad guys took byakuya/rukia/renji unconscious to be healed? rukia definitely was stronger when she came back i guess renji was too

At this point I'm ready to see Hitsugaya tear himself in half, since the petals ran out, but then his body forms back together for a newer, stronger bankai. Don't fucking tell me Kubo wouldn't do that, he's done it with almost every goddamn character in this arc.

Shit, reading the Wikipedia entry for Bleach is actually pretty good. It feels like the story is over, and you feel a good sense of closure, even though the good guys lost.

It's not this long ass dragging out bullshit of diarrhea we're witnessing up to now.
By the way, can anyone read Japanese and what are the Japanese forums saying about this? Because I really struggle to understand how something so shit can continue for so long without being cancelled. If this was a TV series it'd have been fucked after season three.

It is due to bleach popularity that allows it to sell a lot of volume that allows it to stay longer then it should even though it has been dead last for 2-3 years now (ever since fullbring). I would not be surprise if it is the series that has gotten the most last place rank in Jump history! Of course bleach volume sales has plummeted exponentially which could explains why it last defense has failed and the reason why this is bleach last arc. Even still, it is still one of the most sold volume but One piece and naruto out sales it by 3-5 times as much. So the gap is pretty huge now compared to the past when it actually had a strong competition with naruto sales.
Generally being last place for a long period of time will get you axed. It is common for series to last less then 10 chapter and if they stay near the bottom during those chapter then they will probably get axed fairly fast. A good example of this that happen recently was Lady Justice which only lasted 5 chapters (it was really really REALLY bad but great art surprisingly).
In bleach case, even though it is shit beyond shit and everyone agrees that it is shit, at this point everyone is in too deep. So quitting now is tough and considering that this is the last arc, we might as well see it through to the end. Although I can not read japanese, I am sure even the japanese are saying the same thing we are saying. Perhaps even worst since more japanese people actually invest money in the volume so they have a stronger voice on the matter.

why does bealch get translated before one piece ?
good chapter otherwise, though i'm sure people aren't going to be happy with it. ^^ not in this thread
