Rukia (immune to fear) vs Fear quincy
Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi (doesnt have any organ thus immune to his power) vs Szayelaporro or w/e arrancer guy
Byakuya (bankai counters him because too many rose petal to see) vs Eye arrancer guy
I could go on forever and ever and ever -_-. None of these fight are even particularly about the character out smarting or is a better fighter than the other character. It was more like they luckily fought the person who their ability suited best and they just auto win. Blind counter pick OP?

Kubo needs an editor who doesn't let this kind of shit fly, we can blame kubo all we like but the blame also lies with jump and his editor who keep letting him get away with it because he rolls in the big bucks.

It would be strange if they didn't know, though. Maybe it's the editors/jump that encourages it, for the purpose of dragging the series out? Kubo actually wrote better paced stuff in the past, I seem to remember. The question is if it's Kubo, the editors/management or both who are having Kubo purposely drag the series out.

Kubo should do the same as Obata Takeshi (Death Note, Hikaru no go, Bakuman) and just do the drawing.

Alright, 1st thing I thought when I was reading the title of the chapter: "WE'LL FINALLY KNOW WHO WAS SWORD!"
Now to the chapter... you guys are right, it was really short and nothing really happened. I'm just wondering if the axe form is a Shikai or actually the Bankai... Because I thought that Zaraki's zanpakuto had the 'perma-shikai syndrome' just as Zangetsu, and I'm not sure if it makes any sense to have kind of a 2nd shikai... I might be wrong. Also, it's pretty massive, big enough to be 'standard bankai size'.

Size of sword has nothing to do with Bankai.
It just appears to be that way due to some bankai increasing size of sword, but there is no correlation.

Back in the day (when the story made sense), Rukia's explanation was that the larger the Zanpakto, the more powerful the holder. Even when Ichigo's Bankai turned out to be a normal sized sword, it was because it was a massive power just all compressed as tight and fast as possible.
But then it stopped mattering because Kubo.
