The final shizzle is rather somethning above bankai, so not everyone knows about it and even less can use it (if any). I.e. those that throw away their lives for whatever reason.

We had always assumed his dad lost his powers because he used it himself, but it turns out he just wanted to impress/save the mother. So apparently every generic captain can learn the final form? theres no law that saids you have to use it as soon as you know it, he learned the final form jsut has never been in such a spot that he needs to use it

Oh... didn't pay attention to those... Weren't there speculation that Chad had hollow powers? And Orihime's powers aren't so special after all?

No. Her and Chad's powers are spiritual manifestations of their souls which the Hōgyoku prompted. Not fullbring. Atleast not until Kubo decides to retcon it.

... In any case, it matters not what they are, because Kubo will change it at some point in a way or another with a "Kubo twist"™.

But we're right back to Ichigo being everything ever that he could possibly be and then some, and he wasn't even trying yet. Sigh...

Why is this series called "Bleach" anyway? Has this word ever been mentioned in the manga?

Something to do with "Death Gods" being depicted as black and Kubo wanting a title that challenged that depiction and white complementing black as a colour or along those lines iirc.

The title wasn't Bleach when Tite Kubo decided to draw a story about Shinigami. This was before he drew the one-shot manga that appeared in Akamaru Jump. The weapon wasn't a sword, but a scythe. Only Rukia had a scythe and the other characters used guns. At that point, the title was Snipe (as in "Sniper"). Right before he started drawing, he began to think that a sword would be better and realized he couldn't use Snipe as a title anymore. He began looking for a title that grasped the bigger picture. Shinigami are associated with the color black, but it would have been boring to use "black". "White", on the other hand, can suggest black as a complementary color. So Tite Kubo chose "bleach" to evoke the impression of the color white. Somehow the title shows the deepness of the manga.
