Great movie. For some viewers it's probably just a lot of talking and feeling underwhelmed at some "reveal" Very rarely do we have a movie (or any kind of main steam media) that dive into religion vs atheism at this level.
Great acting by Huge Grant, he outshined all other actors and actresses by a fair bit.
I especially like the ending, but can't discuss it without obvious spoiler. The movie is less about what is "happening" but making the audiences question on some bits.
A24 had been a bit hit or less lately, but this is them back to their roots. Small budget, horror, well crafted unique movie.
There are 2 reviews on Metacritic that effectively capture the audience reaction to "Becoming Led Zeppelin". One review gave it 100/100 and the other gave it 42/100.
RogerEbert.com gave it 100/100 "If you’re someone who treasures the music of Led Zeppelin more than you’re interested in the legend—or the gossip, or the dirt, or whatever you want to call it—of Led Zeppelin, this movie is absolutely for you. I’m one of those people, and I ate it up."
The Playlist gave it 42/100 "This bloated documentary will not create any new fans of Led Zeppelin because MacMahon caters exclusively to the group’s superfans."
There’s only a couple jump scares. It’s not a traditional horror movie. It’s kind of split into two with the first half being drama and then things go awry in the second half. + Show Spoiler +
its similar to from dusk til dawn if you’ve ever seen that
this dude was a genius and a man far ahead of his time.
it is fascinating listening to his concerns about the future of movies, the movie industry and the movie theatre industry. So many people were afraid of nuclear armageddon... and it never happened.
Sinners was a good movie. I think the first half where they set up the cast is the one that was done the best. Never got bored during the introduction phase of an action movie.
The fighting in the last section of the movie I think was the most weakly done but even that was ok.
I 100% disagree with Christopher Reeve's political views. If anything I should be biased against Reeve. And I gotta say, they need to stop making Superman movies because they'll never come close to the performance Christopher Reeve put on in Superman 1 and 2 in the 1970s.
Watched Eddington. I do sort of blackout if too much violence and sound kicks in so that definitely did happen, but I am glad to see Aster is on team Marxism and frankly the good Left SR side of history. funniest movie ive seen since tropic thunder, and also most fucked up movie viscerally ive seen .. since well idk. + Show Spoiler +
Pedro's politician's commercial is just god tier. Its amazing that the theater i went to which is progressive ground zero all had the biggest laughs during the moments when far left people were made fun of.
I watched this one recently and as a pretty big Zeppelin fan it was kind of mid.
Yeah, I got a few anecdotes that I didn't know before out of it, it was well shot and looked nice, but the way that everything and anything even remotely controversial was completely swept under the rug just rubbed me the wrong way.
IIRC not even Bonzo's legendary alcohol induced rages where he was trashing hotel rooms was mentioned, let alone all the infidelity and under age grupies that were around the whole time.
The law suits were also completely glanced over, it was just a mediocre music documentary about a legendary band, if I didn't love the music I'm not sure I'd get anything out of it other then "yeah, these guys were pretty special musicians and had some fun in the 70-ies and 80-es".
Also, while I do love Zepp and Ramble on specifically, I'd say there are many songs that I'd put ahead of it as best in ganre, to just go with Zepp Stairway is a better rock tune, at least to me.
Terrence Stamp died. kinda sad. i'll never forget his big speech in Superman The Movie and Superman 2.
"you will bow down before me Jor-El , no matter that it takes an eternity... you will bow down before me.. both you.. and then one day. .. YOUR ASS! ! !"
The Long Walk is out, extremely good movie. Like rays of sunshine trying desperately to poke through the blackest smog.
One of the best Stephen King adaptations I've seen, and possibly my favorite movie of the year, for an hour or so I forgot how much I wished everyone around me in the theater would go anywhere else.

I had like zero expectations for this since his adaptations are very hit or miss, but it sounds great. Personally im getting hype train loaded with lots of coal right now for One Battle After Another. I knew Ari was a revolutionary fighter, and it looks like Paul is the same.
I kind of want to see the movie HIM. It looks great. But I'm not into shock horror. So I'm kinda apprehensive about it.
Other than that, there's nothing really major on my radar. Kpop Demon Hunters was a delightful stumble upon flick that I wouldn't mind seeing more of going forward.
