A solid 8.5/10 Sherlock Holmes: Meh. I didn't really like it. Guy Ritchie hasn't been the same post-Snatch. Robert Downey Jr. gives a cool and unorthodox take on the most famous detective ever, but somehow it doesn't all fit. While the plot is very much like the books (including the only woman that Holmes ever cared for), the acting above par, the direction modern, I just couldn't get myself interested. 5.5/10, because on a scale of 1=crap to 10=unbelievably awesome, this is the exact average. Ninja Assassin: OK, the plot was laughable, the acting (?) was questionable (!), and all that other critical crap, ayada yada yada.... NINJAS FIGHTING ALL THE TIME WITH NINJA STARS AND SWORDS AND CHAINS WITH BLADES AND SHIT!@#!#!@ Yeah, who cares about all the rest of the things, there are some awesome fight scenes. And hey, ninjas are frickin' awesome. 7/10, because ninjas are awesome. Moon: You know what? I like this. Not as pretentious as District 9, no cheap action scenes, solid acting, some deeper philosophical debates (as all quality sci-fi should have), but overall a story about a guy in an extreme situation. Yeah, it's not a big budget or effect based film. But Sam Rockwell shows some surprisingly good acting, and while this movie doesn't aspire to greatness, it is surprisingly good and avoids the major pitfalls that doom most films of the genre to recyclability. 7.5-8/10, because I just like it.

Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx both in an action uncovering the corrupt political system of Philly. The plot was ok, a few plot holes here and there, but nothing that takes too much away from the action. The acting was brilliant, made me wonder why all movies' actors be as good as this. The ending really let the movie down however. 7.8/10, Becaue the ending really messed up the plot, and because of a few minor plot holes. 2010 This was truly an epic movie, from a action-loving point of view. If you come into this movie expecting factual sciency stuff, you will be disapointed. Everything that happened after about the 20 minute mark of the movie was complete bull science wise, but the action is enough to keep you watching. The acting was a little cheesy, but at times it did shine through with perfect representation of human emotion and such. Overall, this movie really depends on your approach of how you will analyse the movie. 7/10, Was really long, and the factual science was nowhere to be found, but great effects and a great plot that keeps you on edge from 20 minutes in to the end. Enough to boost this movie to a 7. Edit: The Ruins Seriously, this movie sucked BADLY. There was no plot, and the whole thing about plants being capable of making the same sound as a cell phone was also stupid. The cutting off the guy;s leg scene was unneededly long, and the who "Oh, you've been on the ruins you cant come back down now" this is rediculous. The acting was not very good, and overall there was nothing appealing after i watched this movie. 1/10, + Show Spoiler + just because almost all the characters die

The only thing that makes this movie less than perfect is the DiCaprio effect - he belongs in a boyband, and can't man-up to the main role here (a matter of taste - I never could stand him and Tom Hanks). Soundtrack is great (both fitting the atmosphere and helping to set it, but never overwhelming enough to detract from other aspects), visuals very good (not exactly Avatar or Kill Bill in sheer visual power, but very strong), direction and pacing spot on (Martin Scorsese is a brilliant man), deep and engrossing plot (no need for extremes and gimmicks, just fundamentally sound in every aspect), and acting is (with the exception of DiCaprio) perfect in every single role (down to the most minor actors). Yeah I saw Shutter Island it was a very good movie. I don't know what was better though the movie or the fact that my GF was giving me a hand job in the middle of a Korean theater... ROFL God help me if some chick would of saw it and started screaming like Peewee Herman masturbating in a theater.

![]() Saw this last night and thought it was interesting. The plot is not too original, but I thought it was enjoyable. The developed suspense and directing of the film is also really good. It's not often that I find myself rooting for the protagonist and hoping she will be ok. 8.5/10 for the film and girl. ![]()

The film is SO boring and grim. Everything this kid does gets completely fucked up and vexes everyone else. I mean it just gets depressing and long and longer and i pretty much stopped watching near the last 30 mins

![]() Young Bruno lives a wealthy lifestyle in prewar Germany along with his mother, elder sister, and SS Commandant father. The family relocates to the countryside where his father is assigned to take command a prison camp. A few days later, Bruno befriends another youth, strangely dressed in striped pajamas, named Shmuel who lives behind an electrified fence. Bruno will soon find out that he is not permitted to befriend his new friend as he is a Jew, and that the neighboring yard is actually a prison camp for Jews awaiting extermination. Incredibly powerful movie, good acting. Had me in tears.

![]() 5/10 - New story line but I didn't enjoy it, I didn't think it was terrible either. Actually I didn't feel anything for this movie, and that's probably a bad thing either way. Wouldn't really recommend this unless you are bored and there aren't any other movies you want to watch. We need a horror version of Alice in Wonderland.

I saw this yesterday: ![]() New York City cab driver Travis Bickle constantly, almost obsessively, reflects on the ugly corruption of life around him, and becomes increasingly disturbed over his own loneliness and alienation. In nearly every phase of his life, Bickle remains a complete outsider, failing to make emotional contact with anyone. Unable to sleep night after night, Travis haunts the local pornography emporiums to find diversion, and begins desperately thinking about an escape from his depressing existence. Scorsese did a great job at making him feel isolated and withdrawn from society. That jazz track they used really did help. Also, I never knew this. But a lot the punk scene drew from this movie with the army jacket, mohawk etc.Really great acting all around from an young cast:Jodie Foster,Sybill Sheperd,Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro. You really do have to like character pieces though or you may find the movie slow paced. Another recent movie I saw that stuck with me was: ![]() A loving family man with a promising future loses everything when he accidentally kills the burglar who broke into his home. Convicted of involuntary manslaughter, he is sentenced to spend the next three years inside a maximum security facility where the rules of society no longer apply. Great acting here by Stephen Dorff as the protagonist who accidentally kills a man trying to rob his home. Val Kilmer shows us that he still has it in him as he plays Stephen Dorff's cellmate who ended up in prison by enacting revenge on the people that had killed his wife and daughter, by murdering their whole family.Harold Perrineau who is well known from The Matrix trilogy and Lost plays a corrupted prison lieutenant who makes the prisoners life hell. You get a gritty view of life in prison, whether you were guilty or not and the experiences this man goes through to get out.
