Ok, So I got a question: Can anyone give me a title of a "girls" comedy from the last ten years, that would be about few women hanging out/having fun/are in some kind of trouble/adventure whatever, which is ACTUALLY FUNNY? I mean, guys commedies are hilarious - Hangover, Horrible bosses to name a few. (you get a picture of what I'm looking for). It's women's shenanigans between themselves and/or people around them.
Aside from "Mean girls" (with Lindsey Lohan before drugs) I haven't stumbled on a good chick comedy in ten solid years. Bridesmaids was TERRIBLE. Bachelorette even worse.
I'm sorry about last page I got dragged into a mud fight and realized how pointless this was when Wnio created his poll thread. I just liked to point out that he spew garbage like "The acting in Seven Samourai is terrible" "The acting in old movie is terrible because they were shot before method acting was invented" (I'm fine with people saying "I have trouble watching old movie because i'm not used to the acting" or something along the line) "Fincher is objectively a better director than Hitchcock because there is more suspens in his movies" (wildly paraphrasing here but that was the idea) "tokyo story is pretty damn boring and has basically no plot or anything to move the "story" along. most of those old foreign classics dont really have that compelling of a situation, its mostly just interesting thoughts on life and good poetry, like bergman so its hard to care" and one or two other gems i'm forgetting. I'm fine with people having whatever opinion they want, but combining that much stupidity with a complete lack of humility was too much for me.
I also would like to point out that every other fight I had was with people attacking my reviews (typically "how can you mark TDKR 4/10, you're a hipster").
I was pleasantly surprised to see capturing of the character's emotions there from complete happiness into utter depression. Sarah Silverman made this movie for me. 7.5/10
I wish that Disney would create another type of Lion King movie though. That movie left me with a lot of afterthoughts even though I'm all grown up, WiR was a good movie but at end of the day, there was no lesson to be learned.

What a waste of time. Extremely formulaic; unoriginal characters and jokes; terrible pacing... Every time I see a movie like this I wonder: what's with these scenes in all these movies where the humour consists solely of people farting/shitting/burping/whatever? Does anyone actually find this funny? I greatly regret watching this.
Your comment and rating do not fit together, do they?^^. 5.0/10? How would you comment on a 1.0/10? You rather hate movies and even your favourite movie gets a 10/10 from you with a comment like, "meh, can watch if you are bored". Or you friggin love movies and can`t bring youself to rate something lower than a 4.0 because you know, somewhere out there, someone who does not share your taste in movies might actually could enjoy it.

The point that people make is they barely ever get made (I mean I can barely think of them, let alone ones I've seen/thought were good), and that's why people made a big deal about Bridesmaids.
The best one IMO (but more than 10 years old) is Clueless.

I totally agree, though I doubt many of the younger posters will appreciate a lot of its humor. It is really fun to watch Paul Rudd and Alicia Silverstone converse in a way that is really similar to Rudd's movies over a decade later.

OR you should fix your 0.5 typo ;p
Not how things work! It was just a bad movie. Ratings that low are reserved for movies that aren't just bad, but I actively hate; like The Portuguese Nun or Satan's Brew.

easy A and devil wears prada are good (though devil wears prada is a comedy-drama).
but holy shit you made me realise how terrible/few girl comedies there actually are

The fight scene at the end of that movie would be one of my favourites, it is almost believable (some of Ip Man's acrobatics are not particularly believable in the context of a fight) but it really showcases the differences in style and method between Karate and Wing Chun. Really great scene.
Here it is for anybody interested:
To put it in context, Ip Man was Bruce Lee's Wing Chun instructor, and this movie dramatises Ip Man's younger life during the Japanese occupation of Eastern China in WWII. The Japanese karateka is the general of the Japanese garrison who is also a great martial arts enthusiast and enjoys organising fights between Chinese martial artists and his own karate-trained soldiers. They are fighting because Ip Man cleaned up all of the general's students and the general wants to test himself against such a skilled fighter.

Yep, watched it. Kinda nice, but was it a comedy? Meh. Comedy gold? Not even close.
Undercover, Clueless: I'll give those two a try and I pretty much like Alicia Silverstone. Nothing against her.

I think the problem with why there is so few of these movies, is because Hollywood pretty much have screwed up demographics. They think that "Chick flicks" HAVE to have romance in them. That only guys watch "guy movies". Look at the examples of Hangover or Horrible bosses - absolutely no romance in them. I mean, of course there is the wedding, but it's only there as a background, not the actual stuff that is happening. Easy A was a nice watch and somewhat different then all the Twilight bullshit, but again, in the end it was just a romance.
Most of my women friends actually would want to watch Bridesmaids kind of movie, only with different script and cast. Maybe someone could recommend me some foreign flick?
Wreck-it-ralph:Give this a 7/8 out of 10. Really good animated movie, pulls at the hart strings more than i expected and some really cool video game movies, its no sherk or toy story but a very good film nevertheless.
Django Unchained: Another classic Tarantino film, you get whats on the tin, gore, querkey characters and scenes and some good plot and story telling. Wouldn't say its his best film, but certainly a brilliant flick, 8/10.
Thirty Dark Zero: After watching the hurt locker i was feeling a bit "whats all the fuss about" it was a good film but nothing special. So seeing as this had a similar/the same setting by the same people i had my reservations. But it was fucking brilliant. One of the best films Ive seen, its just incredible, the characters, suspense, plot, dash of realism but not too much, action, and brilliantly shot. Oh the dialogue aint bad either. I give this a 9.5/10, really really good film. Only criticism is the narrative that it was the girl vs the world became a bit too forced at parts, but no film is perfect i guess.
