Also, that part where Cersei just randomly stabs Loras is pretty amusing.

How to have an excellent episode of Game of Thrones: 1. Have Tyrion do and say some baller shit 2. Don't have Dany at all 3. ???? 4. Profit.

Take that scene, and compare it to the actor's audition tape, explaining his own back story: Hound is more like a very angry indignant badass in the book, so the difference in anger was surprising. Still, I'm happy the Hound is back on track with this episode. This has probably been my 2nd favorite episode so far, first being Baelor. Holy fuck, that's fucking incredible. This guy does a great job. Why don't they use him more? I always felt like the Hound was a bit under represented. Doesn't talk much. Just sits there in the background doing nothing... they could have at least used THAT scene!

When she was being a strong character and forcing around barbarians she was pretty cool. Now whenever she gets screen time she isn't providing anything interesting to the scene. Her season 2 story line is revolving around the dragons and the actions of the Qarthians (sp?), not her. I didnt like her in the books and i dont like her here, thats what we call a proper adaptation ![]()

I saw the King's Guard guy hit him (the same guy that wouldn't take his orders during the riot?), was like whoah what, and couldn't quite figure out the nature of his injuries before he lay down to pass out or die (?). For a second I half expected them to have his head come apart along the scar. Yeah — considering how hard the guy hit him, I was picturing Tyrion's head to rip in two. It seems virtually impossible to me that the guy could hit him so hard, but just graze his face. His face wound isn't even realistic either — it goes from one side of the face to the other without getting very deep in the middle either. I'm just really perplexed how he could get hit so hard to pass-out (being not a hit to the head, that alone seems impossible considering he's wearing armor to resist getting winded), but still just get grazed by a sword in another spot. It makes no sense. How does the book describe it? perhaps too much spoilers from that? I don't think it would be any spoiler to say he lives personally (let alone a more detailed description of his injury, which is all I'm asking for), although I'm still glad they leave it a mystery. It would have made a lot more sense if he was wearing a helmet and got a sword to the face. That would leave a cut across the face, and be enough force/damage to cause him to pass out (or even die)

That wildfire was beautiful and the Hound had amazing lines. The only thing that could have made this episode any more epic would have been if Cersei poisoned her child there at the end. My favorite scene was in the beginning when you saw the soldiers up close sitting in the boat waiting and pukeing. It was very D-Day esque (In like every film version of the Normandy landings you get shots like that on the soldiers on the boats right before they land at the beach). I liked it.

So drawn out with little happening and so disconnected from everything else. Not surprised people find it the same in it's second iteration. Don't hate the actress ![]() In addition, I didn't comment on last weeks' episode, but my initial thoughts were last weeks episode was fine. I tend to see these series as reading a couple chapters at a time and then stopping for six days (which I never do in real life). Therefore, although they do try to create mini arcs in each episode, the long term view is as important. In that way, I was perfectly fine with an episode that lulled a bit because they were clearly gearing up for this next episode. Perhaps the pacing could've been better 2 weeks ago, but quiet frankly I much prefer the more cohesive story line from episode to episode as I am very, very tired of episodic, disconnected adventures of random encounters. Roll the dice and see what new enemies we must face from the Monster Manual. I've never read the books, but Legend of the Seeker didn't even feel like it came from a book. It felt like some episodic TV show and after the first few episodes the big picture story was lost and I had no idea where they were on the map or if any sort of progression was being made. (They kept getting turned aside by all these frickin annoying enemies that had no foreshadowing and little connection to anyone else in the story.) I actually really like how the intro of the series starts with the visual map. Sooooo important for constantly reminding the viewer where everything is and builds the common language and spatial context of where the stories are happening.

This episode was definitely worth it. I can't believe Tyrion might die? I thought the scene where the Hound freaks out was well executed and the reasons behind it were clear enough heading into this episode. Maybe others don't feel the same way but it clicked immediately for me. While I can't comment on how he has been represented I agree that it clicked immediately for me as well, hopefully it seems like the hound will have a bigger role soon. I really like his character ![]()

We hear his story in season 1, like episode 2 or 3 or something, the way he looked at the fire on the beach frightened him or something. Also before the fight he warns that archer to not shoot any fire arrows in his way.

It was pretty clear kingsguard answer to Joffrey or Queen. And Tyrion made an enemy of them both.

The only reason why I dont agree with you is because if Martin needs to work on the series, he would not have time to work on the books, and the story would just never end. It is already possible that the series will close in on the books, and I just dont wanna wait like years for new seasons, cus its quite hard to wait even a week .
