Hmmm, I think Joffrey will not wed Sansa anymore with her running away back to Winterfell with the hound. Instead, I think the allegiance between the lannisters and the tyrell's will have Joffrey wed Margaery (since she said she wanted to be "the queen"). I think the tyrell's decided to join up with the lannisters just because of Margaery's wish.

But damn, I wanted Joffrey to die in this episode, his character just makes me mad. Bronn is still a BAMF.

I'm a bit behind when it comes to keeping up with this thread (I blame D3) but for me personally I'm reading the first book of the series atm. Every time I have to moderate I am being spoiled. Tyrion ... damnit I can't rest without knowing what his fate is exactly and without a shadow of a doubt. I saw the King's Guard guy hit him (the same guy that wouldn't take his orders during the riot?), was like whoah what, and couldn't quite figure out the nature of his injuries before he lay down to pass out or die (?). For a second I half expected them to have his head come apart along the scar.

Ok roll call for other characters that were involved with this episode - the hound means to leave with Sansa it appears but now that the battle is over and seeing the preview it seems clear Sansa isn't going anywhere. Will be interesting to see what happens to the Hound for his "Fuck the King" comment.

Stannis was last seen on the battlements of King's Landing, his forces routed and left to die / be captured I assume. I'd find it a stretch if he makes it out of this season alive. Looks like the Baratheon line is coming to an end. I suppose Davos could be alive somewhere in the River, however unlikely it may be.

Dammit I don't want Tyrion to be dead!

Doubtful, it was a light slash across his face. He'll probably have a kick ass scar now though.

Interesting twist there. I wonder what will happen to Stannis now. Davos is probably alive, though his son is definitely dead.

Does anyone know why the Kingsguard guy tried to kill Tyrion? I'm guessing there'll be an explanation later, but I was just wondering if there were any sort of bits in prior episodes which seem to suggest why.

Based on what I'm reading in the thread, this guy's (Ser Mandon Moore) a different guy from the one Tyrion and Bronn threatened at the Iron Throne (Ser Meryn Trant).

I thought I knew what to expect going into this episode but I can't even begin to put into words how much my expectations were smashed (in a good way). George RR Martin wrote this episode... he really needs to write them all.

Gotta give props to HBO, they put in the money to make it look like a pretty decent battle for a single episode of a tv show. Too bad they couldnt show the destruction of the royal fleet though, makes the poor old onion knight look like a pretty big derp considering his vast pirate experience and armada. "hey guys, no one is here but a single ship that is slowly floating towards us. no big deal though right, lets all try to sail as close as possible to it!"

Not only cause of Margaery's wish, Stannis did kill Renly, which was the main reason I believe.

Last we see in Tyrions first person view is an army of crimson on their steeds rushing in and rampaging over Stannis's soldiers at the front of the mud gate lead by the mountain. From all I can see rewatching this epic part a couple of times now, It seems like its a deep cut in the face from right under the right eye,to the ear. I hope he just went into shock and doesnt die T_T. I hope Davos is alright too. Didn't see him after the kamikaze wildfire boat. Seems like Cersei instructed any of the 7 kingsguards to kill Tyrion if they had the chance in the thick of battle. This really felt like a season finale rather than episode 9/10. I just hope that the season finale won't be overshadowed by all the crazy shit that happened this episode. Still Daenerys, Jon and the halfhand, Brann and Rickon in the crypts to conclude this season.

Also, dat Tyrion speech. I guess we are all less than a half man. Maybe a quarterman.
