Anyways I think the next episode will be THE best for this whole series.... Considering the Lannister forces aren't with King's Landing at the moment all Tyrion & Joffrey have are the gold cloaks which imo is pretty much a police force with tazers
Agreed. I was a little worried given how little they've shown other battles (ie, not at all) but from the trailer it looks like it's going to be awesome. Can't wait for Sunday XD
I'm curious, have the mods moderating this thread read the books, or d'you have to get spoiled every time you swing the ban hammer?
Edit. Another question too: why didn't the Targarian girl want to show her dragons when she walked up to Qarth? Does anyone have a clue? I recall seeing a meme with her saying "No! CGI is expensive!" and that's kind of how it felt to me ^^

From a cultural perspective making requests from guests can be considered fairly offensive, but I doubt that's the full reason she didn't show them.

I'm not the most active, but I've read as far as I care to so even I get spoiled I don't mind. But it would have to be 4th book stuff and usually the spoilers aren't that far ahead.

ye, this one, quite funny
It doesnt really make a difference though, you can say she did not trust the merchants or something
It was probably the best not to show how weak and tiny the dragons were. At that point they were quite underfed, as were the rest of the crew. She wanted to be taken in based on her possible strength and future strength, I believe?

It was quite insulting since her bloodriders return to her in the middle of the desert saying " the Thirteen of Qarth invites them", but upon arrival the invitation was only extended under the condition that she shows the dragons. I guess Dany felt insulted, also she does not want to look like a beggar desperate for help since she is "mother of dragons" and all.
After seeing a review that compared the acting of Emily Clarke (Dany) to a local theatre actress I haven't been able to think about her any other way recently T_T. It's so true, she does have a touch of budget local theatre about her acting. But I guess not every actor can be perfect in a show (except the Wire??), and she does have a very very fine ass.

I think it's more that she's very proud and she got pissed off that before receiving hospitality she would have to do what someone else told her to do. Kind of understandable. "Oh you're starving and thirsty? that's cool. before i give you some food, water and shelter, I'd like to see your pets, because your pets are fucking interesting".
I'd be pissed off too, but I'd have shown the dragons. Dany gets pissed off, she gets pissed off. She's a Targaryen. ;/
For those who'd like to know how to spell Targaryen correctly, it's very easy. Takes three steps.

Some names in Fiction are just incredible and carry such weight/awesomeness. Most of the names in ASOIAF, most of the names in LOTR, some of the names in Star Wars 4-6 (Jar Jar Binks lol no prequels please), and even some names in Star Trek.
Whereas the internets is filled with xXxNlnj4$NIp3RxXx's. Sigh...
is being compared to a local theatre actress good or bad?
I think the best name in the show is Tyrion/Jorah... its just so unique yet I can totally see people with these names. Names like Drogo or Viserys just seems too fantasy-ish.
