Jaime would wreck him. The mountain maybe just because of his size/strength/the strength of his armour. Selmy perhaps as well. Stannis isn't really shown as a skilled fighter, I think there's reference that Robert was a much better fighter than he was and Jaime definitely could beat Robert. I do not think we have seen him fighting with swords, he could very well be good. Maybe not as big of a sword-fighter as with the lance but let's give him the benefit of the doubt for the moment

syrio forell could possibly best jamie if was still alive. he was 1st sword of braavos for 9 years and knows a better technique of swordplay.
the 3 obvious ones are selmy, the mountain and the hound.

I love you guys arguing about who would win in a fight between Loras and Jamie. You're playing right into George R.R.'s glorious plan.
what i came to say: last night's episode was one of the best. tons of tyrian. tons of drama. serious. psychological. war and political strategy. bran's alive. and still a great ass shot.

And for the jaime top 3, what about the guy that kill the dancing master ? He seems pretty badass for me No, Renly's wife is of house Tyrell. Tyrell are one of the strongest/most powerful families in Westeros. Their capital Highgarden is in the southwest of Westeros. Volantis is one of the "Free cities" across the narrow sea. If you remember episode 1 of the first season, Dany and Viserys were in another of the free cities called Pentos. You can think of Volantis as essentially a medieval Italian trade/merchant type of city. The guy who killed the dancing master is one of the kingsguard I think. He's not really badass. He beat Syrio Forell (the dance master) because he had thick armour and a strong sword vs a guy in clothes and a wooden sword. Syrio Forell didn't lose/die because he got beat by a better opponent but rather think of it as a build order loss. Edit: Fixed Martell to Tyrell, I always get the two mixed up.
It was never shown on screen that he was dead so I choose to believe he got away.

I was just about to say that it isn't even sure he is dead.

finally got through a ton of work and projects, and watch the lastest game of thrones, wow that girl had an awesome body, to i'm expecting her to be evil (lol, evil what is evil in this game, well against Robb in any case) The Tyrion scene had me going OH NO what THAT BITCH oooh if Shae is really hurt Cersi is soooo dead! Then when the other whore came in, OH GOD thankgod but Tyrion is just soooo damn good at the game! Oh i loved that scene Tyrion is gonna win this whole thing, cersi ur dead, u've been dead ages ago. Tyrion will WIN! go Tyrion! Oh Selmy should easily put up a good fight with Jamie, i remember how he said he(Selmy) could cut through the golden guards( forgot their real names) like butter even with his old age. The mountain i dont think would put up a good fight he has no self control his only advantage is height and strength and i'm sure Skilled Fighters like Jamie would just weave in and out and cut him to pieces. The hound probaby would be a decent (cough i mean AWESOME fight) he actully probaby can plan out attacks and stuff, unlike the mountain who just expects to kill someone in one hit and doesnt plan for what happens when they dont die. Arya just looks so much better in game of thrones that real life (on the red carpet ect that kinda stuff, imo she doesnt need all this makeup and stuff she looks fine just like in game of thrones without all the dirt ect.)

While that's true they did cut to Arya, where you could hear a man screaming just before she decides to go to her room (where a lot of noice is coming from) or flee. I'd expect him to be dead. It's a shame though. I liked him. He could've been in the top 3 swordfighters, don't you think?

It's kinda spoliery since it reveals 1 or 2 characters that are yet to be introdouced and reveals something that is yet to happen, so best go straight to the fights and skip introduciton, but I think you can read it and not really get spoiled. It is really well written and fun to read, and the winner is : + Show Spoiler +Finals (641 Responses): Jaime Lannister (336, 52.4%) Syrio Forel (305, 47.6%)

The one thing I really disliked about this episode was the dragon-mother storyline. (really bad w/ names). I was expecting her to at least go to the house of the dead/damned? this episode, esp after the quick recap at the start showed that scene again. I enjoy all the other storylines, but the dragon story line has been pretty shit in season 2 so far imo.

I kinda liked her storyline before (no not because of her sex scenes....okay a little bit) but now, it seems that she doesnt do anything and everyone around her is doing it, she just seems to wait/ walked around talking then somethings happens and shes like what?! 0_0 oh god! grrr... I"M MOTHER OF DRAGONS. end scene then thats it... which has me losing intrest in her part.

I think it is just a product of how awesome all the other storylines are. Oh shit Arya escaping from the Lion's army? WTF Jon Snow you were captured by Wildfolk! OMG Tyrion you are such a badass, yet you have this deep emotional side...cute and compelling! Robb, even though your mother betrayed you, you still get to sleep with Charlie Chaplins daughter, yea! Wait, Brann (and HODOR) are living in Winterfell, right under Theons nose, whaaa!? And Stannis is about to totally fucking attack Kings Landing, Holy Shit!! Oh...and some girl lost her dragons, hmmm.
I guess in my eyes, Danaerys will become a big player in the game soon-ish (years maybe) and it is important we see her rise to power but for now it is just that..trials and tribulations along her rise to power. Nothing as epic as a full-blown war that is about to happen.

i mean her story is pretty fucking cool this season, though that episode was lacking. She hiked an entire desert with her tiny ass khalasar tempting them all to just drop dead. Got into Qarth, courted by the super rich black dude, then her people were massacred. then she watched all of the 13 get murdered. so essentially she's this little fucking girl in the middle of nowhere and literally everyone around her was just killed.
|
Just a quick question, some people previously mentioned the guy who killed (or maybe didn't, that's not the point) Syrio Forrell as possibly one of the 3 fighters Jaime would consider capable of fighting with him on equal footage. Isn't that guy the current captain of Joffrey's guard, the one who's SOOOO blindly devoted to him (in opposition to the Hound, who's devoted too but in a maybe wiser way)? - I'm talking about the guy Tyrion threatens when he says "Bronn, kill the captain if he speaks again! Now THAT was a threat". -
Also considering swordsman of Westeros, I guess Bronn should make that list even though Jaime obviously doesn't even know his name or that he exists. Let's not remember that he defeated sir Vardis who was arguably the best knight of the Vale since Lady Arryn picked him herself to get someone she hated dead (she would've logically picked her best knight considering how much she hates Lannisters).

Obviously Mr. Snow is the best fighter.
At least after Arya's teacher died. That dude was like unbeatable.

We really do not like to be spoiled He probably means Loras, not the prince of dorne. As someone who's read the books, I don't think that line is in the books. So there really is no guaranteed right answer. But probably barristan, clegane, and loras highgarden.
He definitely does not mean Loras. Loras is suppose to be what like 19? and at this time he's totally untested in battle. You have to do better than simply perform well at a few tournies to make Jaime concerned : )
I'm pretty sure he was referring to the Clegane brothers, and Selmy.
