I loved the scene with Jamie talking about Barristan Selmy. I was hoping we would find out where he is. At least they're talking about him so it shows he's not a completely forgotten side character. Can't wait to see when he turns up.

afaik, he was one of the badass fighters during the usurption of the mad king (targaryen) and the rebellion of the iron islands (not sure about this tho)

er. He was always known as a good fighter, but one of the best? Hardly.

The writers are too overt with the clues for Bran and Rickon. That's why people think they're still alive.

I love the scenes between Tywin and Arya. Just oozes brilliance.

Holy shit the warlock guy just gets creepier and creepier every episode. Also yea I think the orphan boys were killed in place of Brann to try to control the people. Kinda confused about the walnuts though..

But the more I think about it the more I think the Starks are still in for it. I feel like as long as the war continues in Westros the thing that rips at my heartstrings the most is seeing one of the Starks harmed. Every time they show Robs camp they play these warming, noble pieces and you just relax for a bit and think "finally, some decent human beings for a change." Maybe I'm just paranoid after last season but it just feels like One of the Stark boys is going to die by season's end. Arya and Sansa I'm less worried for, though I'm really not looking forward to an impending Sansa / Joffrey rendezvous, but for completely different reasons.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau was awesome in each of his scenes today. "Whatever you do you break your vows" followed by his mention of Jon Snow was just incredible. Speaking of him, its going to be extremely interesting to see how long Jon sticks to his vows. I'm also very eager to see the long talked about, but ever mysterious Mance Rayder, and to hear of what he knows about the happenings beyond the wall, and his motives. Trials abound for Snow, can the bastard son of the noble Lord Stark make it through without betraying his honor? Honestly I hope not, the Black Brothers are such a bore compared to the Wildlings. Samwell Tarly or Ygritte? Lord Commander Mormont or Rayder?
The lack of any kind of Stannis scene for like 2 episodes now is kind of getting on my nerves. Here is one of the major players in this fracas, one much effort was invested in setting up his story, and he's been absent. I know his fleet has been sailing, and aside from that he hasn't done much, but it just feels like too much screen time to go without so much as a scene explaining where he stands now.
Yeah I agree, I don't think those two were Bran and Rickon. Though I mainly am basing that off the fact that the other two (Hordor and the wildling girl) weren't shown as well. Had Theon wanted to set a real example he would have publicly hanged as many people as he could. The fact that he didn't leads me to believe he just got desperate, and his reaction to them seemed like more of a "oh shit, I'm in so deep right now". Honestly I really doubt Theon will survive all too much longer.
In terms of one of the Starks dying, I would say either Robb or Jon (assuming you consider him a Stark). Jon is now captured, and even if he does survive, I can see him being killed by the Night's Watch if he escapes or is rescued. Robb is really the only other Stark I see in immediate danger. Bran and Rickon (assuming they weren't killed) have escaped Theon, so for now are safe, Arya is in the care of Tywin, and Sansa is set to marry Jofferey and while she is in danger, I don't see her dying anytime soon.

We already know Ned managed to recover Lianna. This is just background information that has no bearing on the story except to provide some insight into Ned.

In relation to the other plot lines going on atm, Daenerys' and Jon's arc this season have been less interesting for sure. Daenerys especially is wearing even on me now I have to say. Going into the season she was pretty much my favorite character, and up until she came to the gates of Quarth she still was, but her antics since are just ... annoying and not pleasant to watch. I defended that part of the show thus far but with week after week of the same pretentious tirades I'm tired of it.
Jon on the other hand, has been a bit of much needed comic relief the last few episodes. Stuff is starting to get really heavy and really dark and I've rather enjoyed his little excursion as a break in pace, as well as a little test of his devotion to his sworn oath.

It felt weird how one moment Jaime escapes with a calculated plan and then in a blink of an eye he's captured again with no actual scene to it.

I liked the scenes a lot
It was funny and also let the viewers get to know the two characters a bit more, plus some build up
Ygritte shown to be very witty, funny, and free spirited while Jon is shown to be very shy. It also gives some perspective of a wildling. None of the scenes were particularly exciting this week but there was some good dialogues.

I find the Sansa scenes boring. Jon's arc is okay to me.

Another kickass episode. Jaime just kept smashing that face in, so brutal (squish squish). So much tension building up. Can't wait till next weeks episode , really want to see Jon Snow fuck some shit up, go avatar mode and kill a bunch of wildlings. (except the redhead of course, she's worth sparing.....again.)
