It's also been foreshadowed for quite some time that magic was real. Dunno while you're calling it unrealistic, especially since it's not like their suddenly casting fireballs at each other and leveling armies by chanting. | ||

Most of the references towards magic have been like stylistically vague, I got the impression it was supposed to be like the way people in the olden days would view tricks. | ||

That would completely ruin the feel of the series. Most people in westeros doesn't believe in magic, and you are hearing their story. Having the woman give birth to a shadow fiend demon thingie is just as much "wtf?!" moment for Davos as it is for the viewers. This isn't a world where mages are placed on every corner to throw fireballs at each other. But it is a world where mystical things can happen. | ||
