Hats off to you, sir.

As a side note, anyone who enjoys GoT should give The Wire a shot.

We only really based the discussion on what was said in the trailer.

I'm not referring to their fictional content... I know The Wire has nothing to do with swords and dragons... but they both engaging, character-driven storylines involving political intrigue and characters that have actual human elements to them. They're both shows about the interplay between people and their struggles, not necessarily about some uncontrollable "other" force that acts like the antagonist.

Maybe I'm just saying that if you like a good show, you might enjoy other good shows.

I don't understansd why people who have read the book don't think the season 2 trailer is good.

I had little faith in season 2 compared to the story depicted in season 1, this trailer proved me wrong.

I'm curious as to why you had little faith in season 2. Season one was fantastic and very true to the books. Why would you expect any less from season 2? Especially when it has a bigger budget?

The best part is, if they follow the books so closely (and they will), every single episode will be better than the last. :D For a while, at least.
A long while.

additionally the complexity of game of thrones and the tons of storylines and characters are overwhelming to some, similar with the wire, so if you can follow and enjoy GOT you can and will like Wire imo

Also, Tommy Carcetti from The Wire is Littlefinger. I'm currently starting the 4th season of The Wire and it is a fantastic show - it has lived up to the massive hype that I heard about it, and then some.

But as for GoT - I can't f'ing wait for this show to come back.

Well I can think of at least one lesbian scene... but in general titties are an area where GoT severely outclasses the Wire.

The differnce is that The Wire did everything better and most importantly BEFORE every other "cop show". Its as close to real police work as you can get. Its the king of all crime shows.

If it's as close to real police work as it gets i assume theres at least 40 minutes of paperwork each episode.

There is actually alot of paperwork included. Especially the policemen moaning about it and trying to get rid of it ...
