Dany's forces caught them delivering gold and grain from Highgarden to King's Landing. Even without dragons, cavalry catching spearmen in that formation is a recipe for a total rout. The dragon punching holes in the formation is just icing on the cake. Easily the best battle they have done. Incredibly well made.

I believe Missandei has only really been talking to Davos and the scenes that have the suspicious dialogue are with him not Varys. Indeed I am :/ sorry ! ![]()

Actually I did pause it in the middle of the first scene to comment how NOW they suddenly care about logistics. I figured someone would be attacked mid march. I just also figured they wouldn't be dumb enough to let the gold reach King's Landing and then burn all the food. A rather pyrrhic victory. Also, I don't know how Jaime survives sinking to the bottom of a lake in a full set of metal armor, but I'm sure we'll find out next week.

Like I thought the siege arrow would go straight throught its throat at first. I'm a bit skeptical that such a big siege machine can be weilded by one man also. Anyhow, it's not exactly a first, and I think the Battlke of the Bastard did it better, but they show pretty well the horror of battle, and the dragon + the dothraki show such a savage and inhuman face of all of it. You really understand why Draenerys father end up looking Mad. Btw, you guys being on the " I hope the dragon is fine " side is insane to me. Those things are monsters, Yeah, bronn alone on the siege engine managing to shoot 3 arrows in what looked like a rather brief battle... not very realistic. Cranking a ballista like that all by himself would take a lot longer than he had. E: this post and my previous one make it sound like I didn't enjoy the episode. I really did. I am happy to point these things out, but in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter whether he fires 1 or 3 bolts: he hits the dragon, which is the main point driving that part of the plot. Missandei and Dany gossipping was the low point. And Theon and Jon was a bit awkward as if the writers had no idea what these characters would say to each other, but needed them to meet, because plot. But for the most part a thoroughly enjoyable episode. I liked them pointing out that Bran has gone full awkward and weird. Arya fighting with Brienne had some swordfighting discrepancies, but was generally fun (and badass) and served the purpose of showing her family that she has changed, and the joking "list" is quite real. Also, Bran hasn't "seen" Littlefinger planning his assassination? Or he has, but recognizes Littlefinger is a necessary evil for his family right now?

![]() Seeing Drogon float in over the army was the punch in the stomach. It was beautiful and powerful and the terror and shock it must have created in the hearts of the Lannisters was felt for me as well. The rest of the battle was nice but not great. The stupid scorpion being a stupid piece of nonsense that it is made me a little unhappy again but in the end it wasn't the worst. The best thing was, that i was actually never sure if one of the 4 would actually die. Well okay, 3, Daeny would not have died there, but Drogon, Bronn and Jaime felt in danger of death, there, well done. And extra for those that love to hear criticism of the show, here some more: - Why does no army whatsoever have any intel when it's relevant? Gigantic cavalry army sneaking up on them in their own land? Sure. - That fucking Scorpion. Seriously. So it's a Scorpion that can shoot 3-4 Bolts a minute, rests on a ball-bearing so that it can be moved at a speed limited by your own power. Then it is so balanced that you can easily keep it in every position without having to actually hold it but when you shoot it, it doesn't move an inch... Sounds about right for 2nd worldwar era anti-air cannons.

Since Bran now is Bloodraven he certainly already knows Arya is a Faceless Man or maybe "Noone". I'm still expecting the twist that arya isnt actually arya.

I hope not, I could maybe buy 2 Arya's running around but it makes no sense for her to slaughter the Freys or know intimate details about Arya's life (recognizing Hotpie and Nymeria for example) if she's not actually Arya.

I wonder why the water was so deep? His horse was in ankle deep water charging, he gets knocked off his horse about 5 feet and looks like he sinks 30 feet or more. That's quite a drop off! There is no way I see him dying. If they were going to have him die might as well have made it by dragon breath.

- Why does no army whatsoever have any intel when it's relevant? Gigantic cavalry army sneaking up on them in their own land? Sure. I think in this case it makes some sense at least. They were in a logistical nightmare situation trying to haul up all the gold and grain and there were several bits establishing that context. On top of that they seem wary and know there's a risk. I think it's also somewhat reasonable to have a false sense of security since 2 parts of Dany's fleets have already been smashed by Euron. On top of that you can imagine it being a bit tough scouting wise since the Dothraki would move quickly and they'd be in a good position to stop scouts by having mounted archers.

Why did she burn the grain and left the commander of the army alive ? The wagons with the grain won't run away on their own when everyone else is turned to ashe. She rides a dragon without a saddle, without armor on both her and the dragon, wearing a dress... Like... How is this dumb woman still alive and smart people like Tywin are dead is beyond me. Otherwise this episode was fun to watch. The battle was cool. I expect a dick move from the Iron Bank. They will take the money and run after seeing what happened during that battle or even worse - they will back Daenerys.

Bit too easy to use for one person, I agree, but let's not forget that person is Bronn tha man himself. I doesn't bother me, but I guess some people might be annoyed because the dragon was flying straight into the balista instead of circling around it to make itself much harder to hit.

All those sneak attacks in the show are highly unrealistic. They make for a great show of course. All they would needed to know of the Dothraki was a lookout on the ridge where the hordes emerged in the end, but i guess that would spoil the surprise. And yeah, if you don't know that enemy has reached the mainland and landed 40k riders on your shores, i guess you don't need lookouts. So, i guess no one is watching the shore then? It's not the biggest fuckup they did for the sake of a cool surprise but it's symptomatic for a lot that is wrong with these seasons. i get what you say but don't expect realistic fight or anticipating ennemies army, at the end of the day it's a show that surprise bring a lot to the plot, it's better like this imo

SACRILEGE. bronn is one of my favorite all time heroes. what a badass. i was so scared he was gonna die this ep. as usual he delivered fantastic lines, talked shit, and saved the day. MVP oth er thoughts. the teleproting wasn't so bad in this ep. mongolians used their mobility to great advantage, covering great distances in short time. i'll let it slide. nitpick: theon just arrived back in dragonstone. if so much time had elapsed, enough for euron to teleport around wiping out enemy navies, theon should've been back already. arya being able to take on brienne? color me skeptical. it looks like brienne held back because the front kick floored arya. brienne is like 3-4x her weight? if she put full force behind it arya would've lost - but they were portraying the duel like arya outclassed brienne. yet arya could barely take the waif on. the reunion with sansa was interesting. there was still a lot of tension between the two. and bran has just gone full on dr. manhattan at this point lulz. otherwise good episode, great battle and it answered a burning question we all had - how would mongolians have done with an f16? A+++
