Also, Dany's actress looks too old for the part :/ They had to rewrite some of the characters' ages so it wouldn't imply sex with children =/ Imply? Haha, I clearly remember Dany having very explicit sex with Drago on her 14th birthday. I'm not saying the actress should be fourteen, but she should be able to look much younger. They are deliberately making all the central children years older because they don't WANT them to look or be assumed to be that young.
Well that's just stupid. It kills a whole chunk of suspension of disbelief. In real life, especially in a medieval/fantasy era, bad things happen to children just as often as to adults. They don't get some sort of immunity because some people are offended by it.
God damn executive meddling.

Well, George RR Martin did actually tell them specifically to make the characters older, so I'm not sure where you're coming from here.

Does it matter that much? I've always felt the child characters acted a little mature anyway.

can't wait to start clash of kings! Make sure you get the first three read by Roy Dotrice. There are other versions out there that need to be avoided.
Unfortunately, he did not read A Feast for Crows, though GRRM has said that he will be back for A Dance with Dragons assuming that ADWD is released within the lifetimes of the relevant parties (50/50 at the rate he's going).

Yeah Roy Dotrice is beyond amazing, a real pros pro. He's so good I actually looked him up on wikipedia earlier to see what else he had done.
What's the reason he didn't narrate Feast for crows? If it was a schedule conflict I'd assume wait. I just started book 2 and it's great to hear consistency in characters voice. Sry if it was talked about earlier in thread I'm afraid of spoilers

How can you people muster the patience to listen to an audiobook. I despise them. Reading the old-fashioned way is ten thousand times more rewarding and fulfilling and it shows another dimension of the work imo, because you can sit and reflect or ponder any sentence without breaking the 'flow', and you certainly can't miss anything that way.

Spoiler of book plots.
+ Show Spoiler + I couldn't continue reading the books after the two brothers and their dogs died in the castle. It hurt me that I would become so attached to them only to have them stripped away from me like that :/

Are you talking about Bran and Rickon? READ ONNNNNNN

Unfortunately there have never been any plans to re-record it with Dotrice, but at least we'll get him on ADWD.

I'm going to seriously suggest that you continue reading. You will come to understand why. That said, it probably still isn't a good idea to get attached to anyone in this series.

Well that's more reasonable, however what is it that you do, if it allows you to pay attention to the book as well?

Seconded. It's to your benefit to read on.

Hell yeah! I love the Song of Ice and Fire; hopefully HBO follows through with this (and Martin doesn't die before the series finishes, but odds are he will ).
