- The Hedge Knight (1998) - The Sworn Sword (2008) - The Mystery Knight (2010) If you can, read them before you start with A Game of Thrones as it gives you some insight in the history of the world it's set in. But they can be read separately just as easily. The stories are set roughly 90 years before the start of the series and George Martin has confirmed there will be more stories forthcoming and the saga will eventually span most of the lives of the two protagonists. | ||

Also as advice, you should read A Game of Thrones and the subsequent novels first, and then use the novellas to try and kill the wait for ADoD. | ||

A Dance With Dragons apparently has 1300 words last time I checked Martin's site and he was saying he didn't want to have it over 1500 so maybe we'll see it before the year is up if we're really lucky! | ||

Well GRRM has stated a couple of times that he wishes he'd made some of the characters older, because the story is progressing faster than he thought it would. Anyway, better to have older characters in a series that keeps going than younger ones in a series that gets protested and canceled : / | ||

Haha, I clearly remember Dany having very explicit sex with Drago on her 14th birthday. I'm not saying the actress should be fourteen, but she should be able to look much younger. | ||

They are deliberately making all the central children years older because they don't WANT them to look or be assumed to be that young. | ||
