Wasnt his need to kill even physical making him stressed out and losing control? Thats just gone now? haha And because he realizes that he doesnt really have to kill he feels responsibility now. Doesnt the code protect his conscience by saying you kill for a greater cause? Then he lets someone live that fits the code and kills someone because he really wanted to. He abandoned the dark passenger not the code. wtf! He feels guilt for killing people according to the code but if he just wants to kill someone its totally fine? If his dad thought it was curable, why not cure it when he was a kid and only killing animals. Way easier than teaching him how to kill humans without getting caught. There must've been another option to teach him how to deal with his feelings. I call BS on his dad thinking it was curable. Its a good thing Dexter changes but there are some major flaws in this logic and dexters character just took a big leap forward compared to really small steps over the last how many seasons.. 7!

Yeah I didn't understand that at all... they basically just turned Issac into a small piece of character development for Dexter and dropped his existence altogether ![]()

I feel like she is bending Dexter to do things her way, and it seems like maybe she played her old bf the same way. I think shes up to something. Hannah is just Lilah 2.0. meh.

I do hope Dex doesn't just kill everyone who opposes him, that would be too bland. I find a lot of the pleasure from this show is from the bounds that bind him and working around them, it would be too easy to just kill Laguerta and everyone else who knows.

I feel like when in doubt, dexter will just kill everyone standing in his way. I dont see any bounderies. Was he ever forced to solve a conflict otherwise? I think a big issue is that the solution to every problem he runs into is killing someone. Sometimes it fits the code, sometimes its the dark passenger, and sometimes he just feels like killing somebody. Would be pretty convenient if i could solve my problems like that.^^ Professor at the university wants to have an assignment until tomorrow but im watching dexter? NP just kill that annoying bitch haha just kidding

And now she's oh so subtly subverting Dexter, who we can see genuinely cares for her. My guess is that she's going to turn out to be a villain and Deb is going to pull Dexter from her clutches and then they bang.

Instead, he says "Fuck the code, I'm a serial killer, I do what I want." and then murders somebody who has never committed murder. Any kind of "redemption" story for somebody who has killed nearly 100 people (3+ of them not guilty of murder) is going to be inherently silly. Edit: On the subject of the Episode 11 Preview + Show Spoiler + I think it is incredibly unlikely that Dexter manages to avoid people finding out what happened now. He is about to get revealed by two separate individuals, both of them incredibly well-known (especially LaGuerta, as the spokesperson most of the time she is known city-wide), and it would be impossible for Dexter to kill both without getting caught. Hannah McKay is also about to get caught by Deb and Angel, so the theory that they are on the run together in Season 8 is a very good theory imo. The real interesting question will be what happens to Deb when Dexter is found out. I think it would be best if she was kept alive by the writers then questioned/demoted in-show by the department (she would have to lie to avoid jail ofc). Several seasons back he said that he'd killed 126 people. So he's around 150 now, at least.

And the whole "Hannah and Dexter are emotionally incompatible" spiel took a major dive. Buy the ticket, take the ride. Of course he never existed. I'm shocked that people actually think the dark passenger is some sort of metaphysical entity. It was just Dexter personifying his compulsion to kill, like any addict refusing to take responsibility for his actions.
