So if I want to watch this, is it advisable to watch all the earlier seasons before that?
I just watched the first 2 from 2008 and it was pretty bad. I kinda feel like skipping although I usually never do that.

You might miss on some story. If I remember correctly earlier seasons tend to be more of a series of mostly unrelated mini-events but some are pretty important for the future episodes.

I watched it all, some of the earlier episodes definitely were not on the same level as later ones but it's still watchable even if a bit silly at times (at least they're short).

Yeah the problem is that most of the series is rather cheesy or silly, but in the end it does provide most of the gravitas of the four part series finale. So I can do nothing but conclude that most of the series is not worth the investment but it does seriously detract from the emotional impact of the final 100 to 80 min of the series. With the series starting with a 3 year old super lame happy cakes lighthearted Ahsoka and then watching her journey all the way up to the end is rather stirring in hindsight. Quite the buildup to a rather unexpected finale, especially with regards to quality, in script, voiceacting, music score and pure penache compared to the movies.

All in my opinion ofcourse, but seeing as I was totally done with the universe years ago, even before the biggest disasters, this stirred my 11 year old heart from when I first watched the original trillogy and for that I am grateful. I watch alot of movies and series, truly alot, and to stumble into something like this four-parter without any expectations or even negative ones, which really drew me in and pulled on my childhood strings was kind of a treat.
ModeratorFor remember, that in the end, some are born to live, others born to die. I belong to those last, born to burn, born to cry. For I shall remain alone... forsaken.

Also, even excluding Ahsoka there are some interesting character arcs for other people as well (Maul and his brother, Cad Bane etc.).

I have just binge re-watched The Punisher for the third time. Damn, it has to be one of the best TV series released in the past decade.

I've been watching Star Wars: Rebels.

You have to wade through some nonsense but there are moments in this series that are among the best Star Wars can offer.

Actual spoiler:

+ Show Spoiler +
The Kenobi vs Maul lightsaber battle in season 3 is amazing. Even though its short, so much happens with expressions and stances.

If you like Star Wars and you never watched the animated stuff, this is highly recommended. Maybe grab an episode guide off reddit and just watch the main story ones in season 1.

I just binged through the whole thing. Let's say it could have been infinitely worse. I'm happy with the way it ended.

Dark season 3 was pretty dang good. I only had a few minor things that nagged at me, but I can see why they all happened the way they did. Random spoiler-rich annoyances below.

+ Show Spoiler +
The CGI tunnel was pretty blech, and I can't believe there was like 4.5 minutes of it. The "Jonas/Adam is literally unkillable" schtick was a bit much for my tastes. It's a bummer we don't get to see Jonas/alt-Martha's son vanish, because it would be the first new and surprising thing of his whole life. And it would have been nice for there to be some reason/causality to the fact that these two realities were created by Tannhaus' original time machine.

But acting, general story structure, wrapping up almost everything satisfactorily...this is pretty much everything you need from a series finale.

I'm watching a new miniseries on HBO called Trackers. It's actually pretty decent.

Oh I got to watch this. I even managed to avoid the temptation to click on spoilers. The two first seasons were among the best bits of television I've seen recently and + Show Spoiler +
one of the best take of time travel I have seen in fiction (let's face it most attempt to deal with that topic are really dumb).
The fellow who is out to burn things up is the counterpart of the fool who thinks he can save the world. The world needs neither to be burned up nor to be saved. The world is, we are. Transients, if we buck it; here to stay if we accept it. ~H.Miller

I *think* that was intentional.

Everything is mirrored in the mirror world (except text)-I believe they literally mirrored the film, actually, and had the text written backwards-and when people/things from the mirror world travel to the main world, they "un-mirror." So Marta's scar flips sides, as does which side the man's cleft lip is on. This can help you instantly spot whether the cleft-lipped man is killing someone in Jonas or Marta's world. This also saved them a fortune on building a mirrored version of the entire set.

I saw Mystic Quest on AppleTV. Pretty solid comedy. Also really enjoyed the second season of Harley Quinn. Hoping it gets picked up for s3 soon because it was fantastic.

Just started season 3 of Dark but am having trouble remembering all the details from the previous seasons.

Has anyone seen a video recap of the first two seasons that can refresh the memory?

e: found this, guess it wasn't out last time I looked:

I find the state of technology in the early 70s, just before the Atari 2600's release, to be fascinating. I watched the first season of "Emergency". Meh... not bad.

Saw What we do in the shadows. first rewatched season 1 then 2. Really my favorit comedy series atm. Episode 4 was the highlight of the season for me. What makes this so great for me is that the vampires are so out of touch with reality and how modern life work that it kind of show off the strange sides of modern man and still takes a piss of vampires in general.
