Salad's life is pretty much like Naruto's (her dad is AFK and she seems like a loner), therefore she should be the ome acting up, while Bolt being the Hokage AND Hinata's son should have made him super serious and sasuke-like. So it wouldve been a nice contrast to see the role reversals, but I guess Kishi wanted to do a standard copy. | ||

Salad has never met her dad, putting her in the same situation as Naruto was at her age (except for the fact that people hated Naruto for the 9 tail fox incident), therefore she should be the one acting up and wanting to be Hokage. The people in the village couldve hated Salad too for what Sasuke did. Sure the Hokage pardoned him after he helped with the war, but that doesn't mean the village should have forgiven him. Boruto on the other hand, has a full family, but Naruto isnt exactly an A class father because he is busy being Hokage, therefore this makes it perfect for Boruto to be emo: "why doesn't my dad love/hang out with me." Swapping personality for the children would have been a nice way to spice things up for readers to see a contrast rather than just creating copies of the parents. | ||

First page specifically mentioned it being a 'short spin off' in case anyone was still thinking it might turn into a full blown second series. + Show Spoiler + Seems we get to focus on Sarada for a bit, with Chouchou along for comic relief + so that Sarada doesn't have to talk to herself in order for the readers to know what she's planning to do. Her thought process isn't completely reasonable (omg, we use the same style of glasses, we're mother/daughter because you're totally born wearing glasses!), but when have the Uchihas ever come off as normal people that excelled at thinking straight? Sasuke's fault anyway for being a terrible father. Better than completely following Boruto, though I could see the series having several mini arcs that each focus on a different offspring of the old cast. | ||
