interestingly the whole story about the prophecy related to the rinnegan either being a "god of creation or destruction" technically madara has just passed around his eyes since start of manga so technically this set of rinnegan are god of destruction eyes if the rikkudo sennin was a god of creation.
we still dont know why madara took so long to unlock the rinnegan. Presumably he Izanagi'd his way to faking his own death and thats why he has only his left eye (and right eyes do genjutsu right?) when obito meets him.

I think those who are betting on Kabuto standing before Sasuke might be right, would make sense...even though i think he was pretty fast in changing, I thought he would stay in that state for some years or so..at least months...but okay, it would make more sense at the moment then it being Itachi, Rin or everyone else coming to my mind.

you realise that Madara already awoke the power of the So6P when he got the rinnegan? he already was the So6P before he died (well would ahve been if he hadnt given the Rinnegan away) he only didnt have a convenient god nearby to eat
so right now now that hes eaten the Jyuubi he is for all intents and purposes exactly like the previous sage... once he gets his other eye back

no asspull needed, it's already been explained how the Uzumaki are an offshoot of the Senju, hence their relatively strong life force, for all we know they're practically interchangeable, if you're thinking in terms of combining senjuu and uchiha.
