Really, we have no reason to suspect he was holding back at the Final Valley, but losing to the 1st gives him the perfect opportunity to fake his death, and fall under the radar, which is important given his plans with Hashirama's "cells", wish they'd be more specific about that too, it only leaves room for stupid jokes. But in any case, we don't really know how the 1st would hold up to Madara now, if he were also alive and in his prime. Historically Madara's always lost, but he's been more cunning throughout the years, and though Hashirama was touted as the stronger one, I suspect there's only been a hair's breadth between them this whole time. Madara is probably the strongest ninja in history right now, for all we know. | ||

He's just throwing every single statute of this manga out the window. So much of this manga has revolved around eye powers, people who had them, and people who tried to obtain them. Yet in the course of two chapters we see Madara absorb jutsu without a Rinnegan, and use Susanoo without a Sharingan. Then theres the fact that Madara seems completely unhindered by his lack of eyesight, despite the manga placing huge emphasis on the importance of vision and its application to tactics in the past. It's just gone completely off the rails at this point. Kishi is obviously concerned with Madara seeming underwhelming after the whole Obito fight, but this chapter felt completely mundane. We really just need a hard reset for this to get at all interesting. We need to get rid of the tailed beasts, get rid of the alliance, and get rid of all these stupid power ups. It's like Kishimoto has been watching too many Michael Bay films and is just trying to throw as many big stupid elements into the story that he can. | ||

Sasuke couldnt hold his Susanoo up and running because he was loosing eye sight but madara doesnt even need eyesight (hell not even eyes) to use a susanoo srsly ? | ||
