I can't find it since it's so old but I do clearly remember thinking even back then how terrible of an idea it sounded given the direction and pace it had already been at. I thought it was more like they would have greater roles like he was going to make them be useful. Because honestly they are two HUGE chars and both seem a lot less powerful then they actually are and they have been playing highly reduced roles (and sakura has been going to the dark side of emo hell like sasuke). This series will not end soon lol soo much he needs to tie up and some things said he will do (that aren't confirmed) that could stretch this out like 2-4 more years if he wanted to. But when you think about it a lot of the stuff is SIDE stuff, he can milk the final battle a but but then he can do everything else pretty fast if he wanted to. Depends on his motivation and how it does well in popularity. | ||

Madara (real one) kills tsunade (ezpz before dying, so naruto can finally become hokage) Itachi fights kabuto perhaps both dying before last arc starts (with random others joining the fight) Sasuke kills sakura (adding to the "anger" in the last fight which naruto "absorbs") Madara is too strong to die before the last arc, but the last arc needs to be about sasuke rather than him, and this eye of the moon plan seems too "epic" to start something else with sasuke, so I somehow see this carrying forward to the last arc. Worst case scenario would be the "immortallity" that is madara gets reveals which translate into madara 1/2 taking over the body of sasuke? sounds kinda dumb, hopefully that doesn't happen. Yes my prediction does seem to be the conventional route. | ||

He'd order other people to go around doing stuff, they'd die or get crippled, Naruto would have long drawn out periods of emo anguish and suffering in which Kakashi, Iruka, Sakura, and Hinata will all console him and tell him how fabulous he is and give him lectures about what it means to be a leader which will all culminate in Naruto being filled with a fiery rage of Dattebayo that sends him racing off to smash the opponent who dared to hurt his beloved underlings.
