Talk-no-jutsu was predicted, and we weren't... let... down? Maybe we're learning to minimize expectations a little better.
Although I think I'm on a 2 or more month streak for both Naruto and Bleach saying "Well, something has to happen next chapter... right?" But if I stick with it... it will eventually come true... in theory.
I think the biggest problem with these manga/anime is that they're made for like... kids who are10 to 15 years old... but they've been running so long that most of the people who started reading/watching still are, but are now in the mid 20s and 30s, and we just get frustrated more than your average bear.

That could be the case.. I started when I was 13 and now I'm 20. It just seems like nothing has been going on for so long now.. ughhhhhh. And I keep getting excited for Wednesday just to be let down.

I am pretty sure naruto shippuden is targetted largely to the people who watched the original naruto. so no not just 10-15 yr olds.

I don't get why people are complaining about this chapter. I know you all want good fights and all but this seems like one of the rare moments where the manga is making sense.
Are you telling me that you guys thought it would be a GOOD story to have the freaking commander of the combined armies duke it out with Naruto? How does that make any sense at all? Yeah, let's take two of the strongest guys from the same side and have them destroy each other! That's a brilliant way to beat the enemy! -___- Get real. Talk-no-jutsu is supposed to work on allies. That's why they're allies, not fking enemies.
I'd be 10x angrier if Naruto and Raikage did just start bashing it out like oblivious morons. It'd be such an insult to everyone's intelligence.

Nah they should've let Naruto fight the Raikage. Sasuke got one of his arms so Naruto, not to be out-done, has to cut off his other arm and escape while hes injured. Then Raikage will of course get cyborg arms or some other ninja arm apparatus and everybody will have benefited. It's totally feasible, just look at Sasori, guy's got no real body except for a canister containing his heart.

This chapter was really boring even with Minato apearing. I thought Bee was similar in age or just few years older than Naruto so I was confused when Minato showed up and Bee was already grown up by that time. I guess Raikage is already a grandpa and Bee is 40 year old dude by now :p

i really like the backstory for bee and the raikage, it makes them as a duo so likeable

I'm pretty new to Naruto.. maybe a year or two? But since this is a forum for discussion I don't mind saying - I really could care less about the history of a fist-bump that happened (and had its function explained) the previous chapter... I do not really care about it's history, but it also paints an extremely different path for B(ee) to have taken to become a Jinchuriki, which, while developing his bond with the Raikage, kinda hurts the solidarity with Naruto. (or so I think?)
I'm half expecting this chapter to replace the 'fight' chapters we might have otherwise seen, and perhaps we'll just see the Raikage just turn to Naruto and ask "what is important to you?" and Naruto say something stupid like "Everyone!" or "My friends!" or "This world!" then he just flies off into battle, hopefully dying quickly while B(ee) agrees to go back to his cage, this time without the teenager examining animal junk.

Kishi doesn't understand pacing at all, I don't understand how this flashback fits into the story and I especially don't understand why it's being inserted here in all places. At least it's not Bleach, jesus I'm so confused by that series.
