So now for some reason Kabuto just can't control some of the people he's summoned at all? Two attempts to directly control Hanzou but his 'faith' blocked them? What a load of bullshit. Also Chouji's attitude is plain laughable. Asuma's death, Kakashi and his father's near deaths, and the destruction of the entire village of Konoha wasn't enough to harden him up?

Basically puts us in a weird place where almost every fight will either involve massive character regression, or it'll be with characters we don't know, or didn't care about to start with. At least we're concluding one decent size battle per chapter, but I do kinda get the feeling that 95% or more of people reading are already ready to move on. Naruto war, I am disappoint.

Kabuto lets them have free reign, but if he needs to he takes full control. He went to take full control of hanzou but it was too late because he was immobilized by the poison or w/e. At least I think this is what happened.

He needs to learn to grow up, and stop acting like the baby he's been since his introduction.

I guess it's a viable strategy since the manga is coming to it's climax and likely going to finish out in the next 2-3 years. Bleach has fallen like a rock in popularity after it's war arc that failed for similar reasons though, it's a tight rope that these guys are trying to walk.

Asuma's death, Kakashi and his father's near deaths, and the destruction of the entire village of Konoha wasn't enough to harden him up? Kabuto summoned all the dead but initially doesn't put the control thing on them. So his faith blocked Kabuto from semi-controlling him. He decides to put the full control on him but by then, Hanzou was already sealed.
