Plot armour, mostly.
I'm also pretty okay with the fight ending really quickly, since I want to read about the character development more than action anyway. It's been very interesting to see Naruto be a grown-up now, and help Sarada out in the way that he has.

why would it have Sakura's DNA though? In other words, why would Karin a piece of her hair. For me, I feel that its more likely that it's Sasuke's hair or something. After all, she treasured a lot of things about them (or we were led to believe from her reactions).

Backwards character development is usually a tell tale sign that the manga/anime is about to end. Naruto going from immature to mature and back again was actually a let down. At least now he's a responsible adult.

What makes it immature? He stated the reason for using it, he said it worked on 3rd even tough he was really strong. Immaturity would be ignoring a good jutsu because it was sexy. He used it because he thought it would make a difference.
