The time travel stuff has been hinted at since the first chapter. "To you, 2000 years from now". Also with Kruger. It's not like it's a sudden ass pull out of nowhere.

The "paradox" can be easily explained as the timeline coming to a stable resting point. So timeline 1 happens, some character (probably Eren) uses time travel to alter the timeline until it becomes timeline 2. Then the same thing happens to create a timeline 3. And it keeps going on and on until it reaches a point where a stable time loop is established (timeline x) where all characters and time travel fit together perfectly so that the timeline is no longer altered. This is it. At least that's my theory.

It doesn't matter what it's based on, it's still a lame ass explanation. I was hoping for something a little more scientific, like an experiment gone wrong. But no, what we got was some random alien parasite creature that just so happened to be the only of its kind swimming in a mysterious pool of water and transforms people into hive-minded titan creatures.... what?

Well im not too versed on Norse mythology but isnt Yggdrassil literally the source of all life? And in was foreshadowed that she came in contact with the source of all creation in one of the propaganda theories by the rebels, so that wasnt some alien creature but part of the roots of the tree which were in one of the three seas beneath the tree.

In any case, im fine with it, i dont need a scientific explanation, it's basically the same as Evangelion. A scientific explantion wouldnt make sense anyway, since the titans manifest out of thin air and are sustained just by sunlight.

Imo this fits better. I always hoped for a super-natural explanation. AoT is fantasy not Sci-Fi.

In one of the interviews the author said the fight got broken up by the instructor (Keith Shadis) so no winner. So author leaves it to your imagination

Since he stated that i doubt it will be brought up again in the manga but who knows.

I'd be really pissed if I were following without having read the manga, considering the big amount of spoilers that are crammed in there.
So, for example, + Show Spoiler +

has the change of point of view to Marley occurred during season 3, or is it something that's dropped on people in advance? It was such a big surprise while reading the manga that it seems absurd to miss out on it.

That also looks like a large amount of plot and chapters to have happen in a single season without rushing everything.
