Xept for last episode, there where some differences, also in the order of events, so start at chp. 33 i think? Or just skip through evryhting quick, doesnt take long

You can start when the anime left, but it's only 49 chapters atm, it will not take a long while to read everything if you're up to.

looking at the summary of this thing, seems to glorify and play up a very tribalistic-fascist mindset. people are sacrificed left and right for the survival of the tribe against a faceless enemy.
usually in war themed stuff, the enemy is given a sympathetic story and the conflict itself is portrayed as misguided. would be interested to see if this one turns the same way, because otherwise its popularity is worrying.

I wouldn't caracterize this as a war themed, more as a survival themed, akin to zombie apocalypse stories.

After finishing season 1 yesterday, I read all the way through to current. Does anybody know what time of the month new issues come out?
|
Usually end of the month so it should be out soon

Rumors are of a live action movie as well. Supposedly hes got a lot of things in the pipe works, 3DS game, live action movie, anime, manga, and merch.

Edit 3: So what i meant to say is that if it was about mankinds survival/fight/struggle against the titan's (edit:survival themed), there would be no need for all the interesting mysteries/questions to pop up. Like the titan's in the wall, or the existance of thinking titan's who thus must have a motivation etc.). The titan's would then be just those same stupid things that just kill stuff for no reason, or 'faceless enemy's' as that guy (edit:oneofthem) called them. But because this is not the case i believe the story is more about the unraveling of those mysteries then the fight for survival of mankind. Atleast i hope so, because finding out is the only thing that keeps me interested in these series.
So i dont think there's much reason to worry @oneofthem. At least if they plant to get on with revealing those secrets at least, not much progress in that T_T.

has anyone an idea if season 2 is planned already or will something be announced soon?
I can´t wait TT

Really the anime anime just ended literally a day ago and you think there will be news about a second season? No there isn't.
|
read the manga after where the anime left off
I really hope the ape titan is not some god creature in the Titan world and it's still somehow humanity vs humanity

The last episode of the anime was very poor compared to the manga. It was pretty much Eren vs Annie 1v1, which wasn't how it was in the manga. Way to make Shingeki no kyojin into a shonen. Also, I can't believe they didn't bring up the cliffhanger of titans making up the wall. WTF, they left no anticipation for the second season. Probably because, they don't even plan on making a second season anytime soon.

titan in the wall was shown after credits
they also roughly showed the beginning of what happens in the next manga chapter

xept, the way it was shown it almost seemed like a joke at the end T_T.... and then there was levi suddenly healed... eren rage mode fire titan, evrything u already said... and for me evrything felt off/weird, like hwo they went between music and scenes, but mb that was dissapointment from the rest of the episode ^_^
anyways agree with poster above me

Sick cliffhanger lol imagine the people who only watch anime!
Is a nice finale of the season, like to be fair they couldn't really end it in a more epic way because that's all they can show for now, overall 10/10 must watch anime of the year, best manga adaption of the century.
Also the chapter 0 of the manga is out, should be cool to know about the back story of the strongest human soldier and the craziest leader ever.

Where exactly does the anime end in terms of the manga?

THANK YOU!!! I thought I was the only one with a very similar opinion :D That was the only thing I was thinking of the entire time. For a second, I thought I was reading into the show too deeply and refusing the acknowledge that the curtain is fucking blue
So these are the themes are I came across so far in relation to what you were talking about. 1. Honor the military. 2. Social Darwinism. 3. Sacrificing yourself for the greater good. 4. Anti-religion 5. Critical of the bourgeoisie
