As for Enryu, he's a "messenger of God" so I think he's just a dude with admin powers. One thing I can't explain is where all the sudden melodrama comes from. This G rated manga is suddenly trying to be dark and edgy. It's definitely not G rated. Characters were dying almost immediately. It also turned dark almost immediately, when baam finally caught up to Rachel and then she cast him aside in betrayal. Since then it's had numerous other dark moments.

For instance, during the fights for the train tickets, hundreds appear to have been killed, but nobody appears to care. Your latter point is precisely one of the reasons I like this series: no one gives a fuck about what happens to people outside of Team Us. It's a dog eat dog world out there fueled by self-interest, and thus Baam is perceived as a weird dude because he genuinely cares. I'm very glad he's matured during the series and I hope he's gonna be forced to make tough calls in the future regarding his "code". I especially liked that the author started killing off the protagonists' friends (Boro and Prince), it really gives weight to the concept that climbing the tower really has a price.

It follows the classic "lawful good character of prophecy will defeat the big bad" setup and doesn't deal with mature themes like GoT and doesn't have the psychological factor of many senin. If you want to read a "dark" manga I would suggest something like Homunculus or anything by Naoki Urasawa. Those are dark, ToG is a lighthearted shonen. dude where are you getting this from the entire premise of ToG is that people are trapped in a giant tower fighting for their lives trying to find a way out the backstory of the main character is that he was trapped in a dark cave for their whole life, with only one person to attach to, and then that person casts him away like nothing just because the author tries to make the story accessible in a way that doesn't make the average reader nauseous does not mean the story isn't dark

Nothing stops the regulars from settling once they've reached a certain floor too. They tend to be well-off too because after reaching certain floors they get privileges. you can live a pretty normal life in the middle area of the tower, but if you want to climb then it's pretty brutal competition. i wouldn't say ToG is dark in the explicit "this world is so fucked" way, but it's definitely not a happy ending shonen story.

It's such a mystery why he hasn't killed zahard. maybe zahard is actually more powerful than we think? He's ranked as 3rd most powerful ranker in the tower, I think we think that's pretty damn strong. It's higher than Urek. Enryu destroying the entire floor gave me nerdchills though. Epic.

His strength compared to Urek and Enryu is unknown, Enryu is ranked 2nd because he killed a guardian which was thought to be impossible and Urek is ranked 4th because there is no way to compare him to the other 3 who are inactive. We only know that Arie Hon (the 5th ranker) said Urek was much better than him.

First some dude destroys his temple, then another dude wrecks his castle, now Baam is trying to kill him. Give the guy a break, sheesh. lol right? but that's why I find it so weird they are clearly upset at him but they just go around killing his followers and not him? though the biggest mystery in the whole series for me is still why did yuri know that baam had entered the tower we haven't found out, right? im re-reading the whole series I think that someone tipped the princess off, they wanted her to go and give baam the black march. I think headon knew this was the plan, and designed the test so that he could test if baam could ignite the black march (use the keys) tbh though if SIU plans these things that far ahead, he is a genius
