+ Show Spoiler +yeah im also of the opinion that enryu and v have a relationship, either being reincarnated or theres another backstory with arlene and enryu. as for rachel, it seems pretty obvious to me that arlene met rachel once she left the tower and probably told rachel a bunch of things about the tower. as for how rachel got in the tower and how she developed her motives etc we will have to see

+ Show Spoiler + I think Rachel, like Bam, opened the door to the tower. The biggest difference was that Bam passed Headon's test the first time, but Rachel did not. It's also worth noting that Headon welcomed Bam to climb the tower, but did not welcome Rachel. Afterwards she struck a deal with Headon (and presumably with FUG since she was working with them afterwards) and was able to climb the tower.
It seems that Headon, the first floor guardian and caretaker of the tower, it was obvious since chapter 1 that he was planning something, but its been years since then XD. I wonder if Arlene planned to have Rachel become the motivation for Bam thus struck a deal with Headon before that. This due to the fact that Rachel was never chosen by Headon to climb the tower but was still allowed to.

+ Show Spoiler + I am wondering if we can trust everything that princess is saying....

+ Show Spoiler +i dont think the princess has any reason to lie at this point. she clearly wants baam to fulfil the prophecy for one reason or another as she no longer has interest in being part of the 'games' that is being a princess of zahard. and tbh from a story writing point of view i dont know a lot of authors that have dropped massive bombshells on information on the audience only to troll them later on and say "haha jokes on you the character was lying".

+ Show Spoiler +naruto, bleach but there is clearly something going on here. so many pieces not fitting yet. why did the leaders all side with zahad? how does Rachel fit into this?

well its only been out a day so...though i guess if you visit this thread after a chapter is out and not expect to be spoiled youre making a mistake, like with all other threads

Awesome chapter. Funny that when the last one came out I whined that the princess didn't give out any info.
People saying that Enryu is possibly a reincarnated V is kinda far-fetched in my opinion: Baam's mom could be and probably still is alive because of immortality, so she probably has told quite a few people what a piece of shit Zahard is. Hence I think Enryu was a champion of her cause.

so is the leader of FUG (lulsec or w/e) immortal if he fought under v? or has he just been alive for a really long time?

Well I think the question that should also be asked; can people in the Tower die of old age?

iirc the leader of the 10 families who didn't get immortality keeps it by basically stealing the life force of his descendants or something so they have short life spans, so yes? maybe people age slowly and the more OP you are the slower you age.

I wonder why that guy was the only one who didn't get immortality. Was the guardian like "fuck this guy in particular"? Did Zahard add a fine print in the contract?

Maybe because he reincarnates

I remember reading somewhere that what they call a year is actually the duration of a month. This doesn't make any sense at all.
|
It's mentioned toward the end of season 1 (or at least, The Company's translation had an explanation about it, if it was a bonus translation from SIU's blogs then you're boned with he current one), I don't remember precisely but a year is a couple months or something yeah.
Then again, for immortals "many years ago" probably means at least decades, considering the age of current princesses.

Man this explanation is super lame.
Part of me hopes that they're all trapped inside the matrix and "god" is just the admin.

One thing I don't like is the prophecy can't we have characters who make meaningful choices with uncertain future for once maybe he'll subvert the trope, something like prophecy just doesn't feel right in the Tower of God universe
Baam's origin doesn't seem too bad to me though. Makes me wonder if he'll actually join FUG for real, instead of just being their hostage.
I'm also super curious as to what is outside the Tower, and who that God is. We now know that there's a way out of the Tower, that's huge. It also presents the question of why the 10 great families and others went inside the Tower. It might have been to conquer it, or to escape. The God seems pretty damn powerful.

i dont think the "prophecy" is an actual prophecy. its just what was written by arlene and what the princess expects to come. if we assume arlene is still immortal outside of the tower then shes probably following through with what she wrote, thus fulfilling the "prophecy", when all she is really doing is just following through with what she said she would do.

On March 06 2017 17:33 jinfreaks wrote:+ Show Spoiler + I just want to entertain the possibility of something on the subject of irregulars. As this chapter mentioned, there were originally 13 irregulars that first came into the tower: the 10 Families, Jahad, Arlene Grace, and "V" (Viole)
Of the original 13, each had some type of deal for immortality save for two, one being "V" and the other Family member was required to sacrifice the lifespan of his offspring to extend his life. However, it seems strange the "V" didn't have immortality, or made some other deal instead.
Come a few centuries aside from Urek, there were two more irregulars: Phantaminium infamous for invading Jahad's palace, and Enryu who destroyed the 43rd floor. Is it possible that Arlene is actually Phantaminium? This explains the massacre in Jahad's palace. And that Enryu is actually the reincarnation of "V?" After all every irregular of the original jahad troupe received some mechanism to live longer. It's mentioned that the land Arlene loved was defiled, hence prompting Enryu's (or "V's") rage.
Still wondering what is rachel's role in this and how she knew Arlene.
Urek is easily explained as Eminem trapped in the ToG universe. We already have Daft Punk so why not?
As for Enryu, he's a "messenger of God" so I think he's just a dude with admin powers.
One thing I can't explain is where all the sudden melodrama comes from. This G rated manga is suddenly trying to be dark and edgy.
