So in General why are there 2 different Versions of Luna from the Production standpoint. I've been thinking about that and here is my take on this. The First two Episodes were done by Lauren Faust right, my take is Faust actually wanted to tell a rather Deep Story, but for some Reason could not get it to work with the Management behind the Scenes hence she took her leave, and I am actually shocked that no one asked about this further usually it is a pretty big deal if a Writer abandons his Creation. That would be Luna V1 you could call it, a Character with much exploration potencial but only intended to work in Fausts Story Scenarios. So with Faust gone along comes a new Team and they see the Luna Character and Stereotyping her into the 'Dark' Category and we got our Nighmare Night Episode, V2 don't get me wrong I loved the Episode and the portrayed Luna there, Strong and independent, but it very much feels like a one Time thing, Hasbro probably came along and was like //Sarcasm on *we can't have a potencial Dark and unique Character with a Conflicting Past permanently in our Show or something and I really hope I am wrong I will gladly eat my words but from what I can take from their *glorious* planned Finale (can you guess I am not exactly forward to it if they keep ignoring Luna for rediculous Reasons) its not looking good for Luna, at least they won't screw up the M6 cause they seem to get what the Community wants but for Luna exploration I guess we have to go to the Fandom Creations ,and their are some very good Storys with her Character like Garys if he ever gets around to finish the Revision. So yeah I really hope I am completely wrong and Hasbro isn't trying to Retcon the whole Thing moreover so that they don't abide by some outdated Notions like associating Black and White, Dark and She never wanted to tell a deeper story with Luna, there are numerous places (interviews or DA journal entries) that state her views on where she wanted the show to go. 3. Seeing her leave the show is not like seeing a creator leave their creation for a few reasons. She was asked to do this show, she has a personal project that she wants to do (Galaxy Girls, I believe), but they asked her if she was interested in this. Also, this was not just her project, she was part of a group of people that created the show and everything we love about it. Sure, there probably was sadness when she left, but I don't think it needs to be justified by conspiracy. 4. They aren't ignoring Luna! She isn't a focus of the show. She was in the Halloween episode because it made sense and was good writing and good world building around an event that their demographic (and Western culture at large) has a huge interest in. What is the motivation to put Luna in a different episode other than simply to have her there? I would love to see them do something with Luna. I love her aesthetics and her background story and her relevance to equestria as a whole, but we need to ask ourselves how necessary she is to THIS show and to ponyville. In the end this is the question the writers have to answer, but we can't have Luna simply because we want more Luna. There needs to be a basis in the show and a foundational theme being tapped into when she enters the story. | ||
