No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is.

lol, no we don't. Especially when Merriwether is the writer. Stop trolling.
+ Show Spoiler +Episode was a lot of fun. It was nice to see Rainbow Dash acting like Rainbow Dash again, and being heartwarmingly nice to Fluttershy. Spitfire did absolutely nothing (wtf, get off your plot and help them get the water to Cloudsdale!) and I could have sworn she was voiced by someone else for this episode.
In other news, SO MANY NAMES.

I have a task for all of you. Motbob and I need to know which section of seats is the most visible to MLG's cameras. If you can figure that out from the stream you will be rewarded.

If you've seen a Rainbow Dash "Tank Drop" sign around, the zone around it is generally most often focused by cameras. That's the best approximation I can give you The guy wielding it was sitting very close to a lane between chairs. We also saw the White-Ra sign very clearly. EDIT: That, or "Day9 Stood Me Up" sign, apparently they were next to each other.

This part is frequently shown on the main stream, plus the part that you get when the current camera makes a turn to the left. (The left part even more frequently I would say). Hope this helps.

I demand to see awesome cheerfulls from those of you who went to MLG! Also, new episode:
+ Show Spoiler +Really enjoyed this episode, one of the best of season 2 and up there with the best of season 1. This is one episode that flowed really well. A lot of times it feels like there are aspects of episodes that are cut short due to the time limits, I didn't notice anything this time. Fluttershy had some fantastic moments and Rainbow Dash wasn't a complete jerk! (hurray character development!). Also, sooooo many new background ponies, I'm hoping eventually they get enough of them so we don't see doubles whenever there is a large crowd.
I was also surprised at how much Derpy was in the episode, it seemed like she was present in every scene that showed a group, but when she was shown as a mask on one of the animals I lost it.
9.5/10

the "tank drop" cheerful is wonderful, I hate working 9-5 every weekend but coming home to JPY vs DRG, seeing the cheerful and knowing there's a new episode for me to see in the next few days just made my day. Wish I could have gone as it's the only MLG event close enough to Chicago for a broke person like me to attend, I'll have to finish my "star swirl the bearded = TLO's beard" cheerful before the next event.
EDIT: I'm quite glad I was shown the first 2 eps of S2 by one of my friends back in september/october and decided to actually give the show a chance this January. The community so far has been amazing and I feel the need to do my own "why i watch the show" write-up but I can be farily long-winded as Aylear knows to well.

Wonderful picture.

You are aware My Little Pony is geared toward the 8-12 female demographic, right?

Yes, but you don't seem to be aware that My Little Pony is also geared toward anyone who might want to watch the cartoon alongside the 8-12 female demographic. Such as, for example, their family - older brothers or fathers.

So you're telling me that you first watched this show with your younger sister or daughter?

A+ Episode + Show Spoiler + Yay! That episode was amazing! That actually brought me back to how I feel when watching Season 1. Ending was all happy n shit xD
Definitely earned a top 5 of Season 2 spot.
I was really afraid they were going to make Fluttershy have more wingpower than Rainbow Dash for some reason too so I'm really glad they didn't do that lol

I'm telling you that it's not intended only for the demographic you cited and providing an example. There are plenty of references in the show intended for adults to understand.

This does not detract from its quality.

walt disney the godfather of all animation said himself that all animation should be targeted to the families of and not just the target market.

"Your dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway." - Walt Disney
"Why do we have to grow up? I know more adults who have the children's approach to life. They're people who don't give a hang what the Joneses do. You see them at Disneyland every time you go there. They are not afraid to be delighted with simple pleasures, and they have a degree of contentment with what life has brought - sometimes it isn't much, either." - Walt Disney
- Also, On the topic of critiquing, my personal sense of it and experience is. Careful what you critique, I find that if I know im going to write a critique on something I spend most of the time watching the episode looking for whats " wrong" than just sitting there and enjoying the episode. I stopped writing ep critiques and eps got better due to just watching the episode for fun.
I think it might be a reason a few people find season 2 isn't living up to season 1 standards, is they are just looking too hard to compare it to season 1 and not just enjoying the show for just that.. Enjoyment. ^^
But don't take this as stop writing follow-ups, follow-ups are great read and I enjoy going through them just don't overly think it.
It might just be me talking bogus non-sense after a 12 hour day at work though so xD my brain is melted but my 2 cents anyway. ^^

Man, this episode is my favorite for the season, although a distinct lack of Pinkie Pie was sad for me.
