No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

On a happier note, I've been listening to these songs way too much. Warning: explicit lyrics. + Show Spoiler + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdoVJfXS8UM Edit: Here, let me offset the "wrong" in the lyrics of the first two songs:

The whole furries thing is actually from time to time hotly debated here on regards to what is considered normal. Is JJ humanized ponies considered weird? How about ponies? Now how about anthro's? Kinda quirky stuff I'd say lol. Anyways, get FlameWheel to start watching too. I failed to get him ![]()

It's the first time something like that has arisen "here" in the West as opposed to being an import of a largely Japanese phenomenon. I mean, there's a danbooru for ponies. That's a pretty direct import.

To watch 20 episodes you must have been entertained somewhat.

I failed to get him ![]() well, even though I like the show, my community needs in this regard are being fulfilled elsewhere, so getting more invested just feels kind of tiring as for furries, I don't really mind them as people, but I am predisposed by my internet education and history to kill them with fire whenever we meet online On March 17 2012 09:17 Wikt wrote: A fairly accurate appraisal. That's a pretty direct import. it's really fascinating - I know the mlp:fim community has had some influence by anime fans (if you could call 4chan in general an anime fan community) so how much of this phenomenon is possible without that influence? and since, for the most part, bronies do not sexually desire ponies... what's the best way to describe the adult-male-fan-emotions? it's very much like moe except moe can still have a sexual spin on it... apparently k-pop fans can also be guilty of this, so it's not like it's an uncommon phenomena ANYWAY I'm glad to be here :3 + Show Spoiler [yay] + EDIT: On March 17 2012 09:31 Soleron wrote: Is there any anime that has as much fanart/music/games/general-community-content as ponies? To watch 20 episodes you must have been entertained somewhat. of course I'm entertained; I just find it interesting how these things come about I don't think many Japanese fandoms grow out of anime by itself anymore; usually there's a rabid fanbase that grows from a doujin/fanmade work that propels it into the mainstream - tsukihime was once like this, fate/stay-night was kind of like this, etc. example: the touhou project for something that has a massive fan community - it's likely to never have an official anime as per the creator's personal requests, but has a huge following in art/music/games/etc.; you can just count the hundreds of doujin CDs/manga/etc. released at every comiket to get a relative estimate of the sheer amount of man-hours that people have put into making fanwork

What puts me off the Touhou scene is that Zun does all the original music creativity, and all these people put their immense audio talent into merely remixing what he's done. If those people had just emulated the style, or made originals about his characters and settings, I feel that effort would have actually have produced something lasting artistically.
