Out of curiousity, would you be able to appreciate this picture if you didnt know it was a humanized pinkie?
I dont at all understand what all the fuzz is about to be honest. Pictures like this is awesome, even if the art style is different and the 'ponies' are really out of character, not to mention the profanities and the god damned car, but its cool. Its different, and perhaps that distance it quite a bit from the show, I dont know. One thing that bothers me tho, is that in nearly every single one of these humanized artpieces, twilight is wearing a sweater vest and fluttershy is wearing a sweater...
But then again, people have different opinions I guess. I just dont get it is all

To be quite honest, those pictures really do not feel like MLP to me. Sure, they have some anime charme, but they are not ponies.

As some of you on IRC already know, had a complicated eye surgery today because of a Chalazion that I had got prescribed a horrendous medical treatment for and therefore it got badly worsened.
While I was waiting in front of the surgery room, my heart was beating heavily and was extremely nervous and scared, so I tried to think of this show, and as adorkable and cute the other ponies are, in the end what calmed me down and even made me smile a bit was imagining AJ saying stuff like "Hey don't ya worry sugarcube, everything will be fine".
Then went in, they were surprised by how calm I was by then. Then it turned out that the dosage of the local anesthetize I had received wasn't enough, but they decided to go through with the surgery like that anyway..... It was so EXTREMELY painful oh my god, but was trying to think of the show in general and of AJ to get distracted a bit and could survive through it somehow, but it was the worst time of my life.
Anyway I felt like crying afterwards (although had to hold back my tears so they wouldn't make my right eye hurt even more) not because of the pain but because of how much this show means to me. ;_; It's a lot more powerful than even most bronies would realise.
Also needless to say AJ went up on my list from 4th place to best pony.
Sadly I won't be able to attend the mare-a-thon like this due to keeping even my left eye open means my right one hurts due to the way eye muscle reflexes work. In fact I probably shouldn't have even typed this right now but wanted to let my friends know everything's okay despite the excruciating pain that is still present since the surgery (painkillers barely helped =/).
Anyway I hope you all will have a lot of fun during the mare-a-thon. See you guys in a few days hopefully.

Hm, I think I didn't express myself correctly: I hate it when they're humanizing ponies, not drawing them as humans, if it's a bit more clear. You draw a pony, or you draw a human. For me the above picture can simply be a girl who has the same character and hair color than Pinky Pie, no big deal. But if you give the real PP some human attributes, it will creep me out.
The worst thing I saw was Twilight with... boobs... :/
For the fluttershy in medic, I don't play TF2, maybe that's why it was more disturbing to me, not knowing which model it was based on. But still, I disapproved the creases on her legs :p (And she could have put her hoof below the handle, rather than holding it like she obviously should'nt be able to, while I'm at it).

I admittedly find anthro ponies kinda creepy, but I'm fine with purely human versions.

Anthro/human ponies can be good, but at least for human versions I usually don't like the character designs the artist has gone for. They can be great on their own (like above) but when it's supposed to 'represent' a pony, I just think they seem off most of the time.
In the above picture though, Twilight is great and AJ and Pinkie are alright.
Also, haven't been here for a while. Might've simply missed them, but I couldn't find much music in the last 10 or whatever pages.

+ Show Spoiler +This episode is probably my favorite of the season. It was funny, like lesson zero, but it wasn't completely insane with it's comedy. It was enjoyable, and had a pretty happy ending. It's actually the only episode that i didn't know exactly how it was going to end halfway through (it was obvious he wouldn't be a massive dragon, but i was actually unsure how they would return him to normal). The thing with rarity also reminded me of King Kong, with the wonderbolts acting like the Air Force.
Despite not having a song, although not every episode needs one, this episode might just be my favorite from the entire series.
I think my only complaint is that the episode didn't explore twilight's and spike's relationship a bit more. It seemed like a prime opportunity for it, and could have formed the basis a good song, hopefully sung by both twilight and spike.
9.5 wingboners out of 10.

The ending. Oh my god when they're falling and spike tells her he has a crush on her and then she puts her hand on his mouth and crys up a little bit BEACUSE SHE KNOWS OMG YES!!!!
the moments where they stick on rarity for a few seconds extra to keep her more important is genius.
Spike going though puberty after hordeing up the stuff was epic.
Ageing gems was pretty great as well. Pinkie pie was epic in this episode and the hat was really nice.
loved the ending every character stayed in character.
just a really good episode.
