No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

That just fueled her jealously and her desperation. + Show Spoiler + Dash has always had a "haters gonna hate" attitude, though. I wouldn't be surprised if they just didn't think it was bothering her as much as it was, just because she never let them see how afraid she is of being alone. Not knowing that, they probably expected her to be introspective, rather than jealous and afraid. I'm actually growing to like this episode more as I discuss it. >_>

My gf felt the same way. + Show Spoiler + It was just another boast boast boast - super predictable outcome - very little mane 6 pony charm episode. Pinkie pie didn't do anything but twitch once and it seemed like the other ponies also just had one line/instance wherein their individual quirks were presented to us as viewers. I watch the show because I like the mane 6 not because I like rainbow dash boasting and getting egotistical all episode long. I didn't think it was that great. To be fair the pinkie pie twitch had me laughing and the opening with scootaloo was great but thats less than 5 minutes where I was really entertained whereas most other episodes had me laugh, smile or enjoy something in particular the whole way through. Hopefully this writer learned after this episode to make individual pony quirks more central to the story than a single "lesson to be learned" attitude throughout. It felt like a kids show this time around which most other episodes never really felt like that to me. It was a shallow episode that didn't offer much to the older audience to really truly enjoy. edit added spoiler as per request of other forum goer ![]()

From Dash's perspective she couldn't even talk to her friends about how she was feeling, because they laughed at her when she showed them how upset she was. That just fueled her jealously and her desperation. They also basically destroyed Rainbow's reputation and turned her into a laughing stock just because she was getting caught up in the spotlight. That's called disproportionate retribution. + Show Spoiler + Exactly. Everypony had a good reason to ignore her, she was more concerned with being seen and being revered that she almost let a whole carriage fly off a rather silly cliff, and the others just did a better job saving ponies. She wouldn't have let Mare Do-Well save the pony in the falling balloon if she had just reacted to it instead of finishing up her autographs. Her ending up "alone" (aka, not being praised) is fine, she still had her friends who were trying to get her to see the real picture and humble up. Also they didn't destroy anything, she did that herself. Even before Mare Do-Well showed up she was ruining it ("Aren't you gonna save her?"). Every time after that people showed their displeasure with her theatrics usually unrelated to Mare Do-Well. Then she made herself look stupid in desperation. I almost expected her to go Twilight about it and start causing problems, that may have been more interesting really. They were kinda dicks about it, but in comparison to how she acted it's nothing, she was wearing her jealousy on her hoof anyway and they were probably just giddy that Mare Do-Well was working.

I enjoyed the episode, yes plot wise it might have been kind of weak, but I don't understand the whole thing about her friends being too mean about it. It fits with the style of the show. The ponies tend to be very emotional so they do what it takes to get through to her, they tried to do it subtly at first with their conversation about it but Dash didn't pick up on it and was still being bloated with her ego so they went a bit stronger with the Parade. I agree it was obvious but even though it was "weaker" I still enjoyed watching it so I wouldnt say it was a bad episode.

Rainbow would learn to stop talking and save people more quickly. Look at this from Rainbow's perspective. Twilight: Mare Do-Well is pretty cool, rite guys? Fluttershy: Yeah bro. Rainbow: *Generic jealously* Spike: Lol u mad bro jealous Rainbow: Don't write that down Spike: LOL *writes down* Rainbow: WTF Her friends: LOLOLOLOLOL Rainbow: Guys seriously wtf I'm outta here From Rainbow's perspective her friends are making fun of her. For a pony who prides themselves on loyalty, losing your friends would feel like shit, which is part of why she was moping around on that cloud in loneliness afterwards. It wasn't just the absence of the spotlight, it was also the apparent absence of friends to talk to. Now...rather than creating Mare Do-Well and having that whole conversation which could possibly lead to hurt feelings, the others should have tried something else first. Rather than taking somewhat drastic measures like they did, shouldn't they have at least tried to say something to Rainbow rather than whispering to themselves? I mean, sure. Rainbow probably wouldn't have listened, and I'm sure the others realised this, but they could have at least said something like "Hey, Dash. Remember Trixie and how we agreed she was a bitch? Yeah, you're acting like Trixie, it's really not cool. Stop kthx." Whether it worked or not, they could have at least spent the 5 minutes trying. And just the fact that Mare Do-Well was around was lowering Dash's credibility and hero reputation. Everything worked out alright and Dash got taught a lesson, but her friends could have apologized for lying to her. Dash wasn't even mad about the deceit and minor emotional stress she suffered, which is another positive trait she has.

Dash has never been terribly emotional, and doesn't tend to listen to anyone else when it comes to what she perceives as a competition. How others perceive her has always had a big impact on how she perceives herself, so they probably thought tearing her down in the eyes of the public was the only way to make her put her pride aside and realize that the fame was going to her head. I have to think they had no idea it would make her as afraid of losing them as it did. On a lighter note, have some more of Twilight than we're likely to get for the rest of 2011. You made me sad, Lesson Zero... + Show Spoiler + ![]()

![]() Now that I have your attention away from dissecting the latest episode: Team Liquid First Ever US Bronycraft Tournament! Many well known names in this thread have done their part in this fandom. GaryOak was the baller who gave Day[9] his Fluttershy, Cane (Alyear) Helped create the first ever Mare-A-Thon, and GMarshal created the very thread that spams the general forum with love and tolerance™. Now, I wish to make my own stamp upon this fandom, at least in the small sub-section here at Team Liquid. Many people have expressed interest in a brony Starcraft 2 Tournament, and I am here to deliver! This will be my first tournament, so please be gentle! What: The first ever Brony Tournament! A for fun tournament for bronies with bronies... and CASTED by bronies! I offer my rusty, rusty starcraft 2 casting skills and my stream so that even if people don't wish to play in the tournament, or get knocked out of the tournament can watch and cheer on their favorite TL brony! I plan on running a double elimination tournament, best of 1 series until the finals at Bo3, with a losers bracket and everything! When: I plan on hosting it this coming Saturday, after ponies of course, as to give as many people as possible the chance to sign up and participate of those that want to. Whom: You all, of course! All I ask is that if you wish to participate, have a US Bnet account and post your in game Screen Name along with Friend Code so that I can get a list going. To get things started, I will be the first to sign up! Bio.576! Where: My stream/Battle.net! My stream will be located at www.twitch.tv/Bio_HoN! Why: Why not? Ok, a better reason: Because Starcraft is awesome, even if we all aren't pros like Hero or TLO, and playing starcraft is pretty much the reason why we are here, no? Alright, alright, here's another incentive. Whomever wins the first ever TL US BronyCraft Tournament will be allowed to have in their signature that they WON the first ever TL US BronyCraft Tournament! Ok, that's pretty much all I can offer right now. I'm a pretty poor guy, so hopefully bragging rights is good enough for you guys to join up. =D Thanks for reading this post guys, and I hope all of you will show up this weekend to at least watch me embarrass myself at starcraft! I will primarily use the IRC channel as a means of organization for this, so if you feel like playing, and haven't already joined the IRC, please do so with the amazing guidelines from Alyear (Cane) to join #tlponies. I will try to stream as many games as I can, and if there are any others who are willing to help out with streaming (I'm looking at YOU Rael!) please let me know! Hopefully this goes as smoothly as possible, though with small tournies like this, its bound to be rough the first go around. I just hope for a fun day of playing Starcraft 2 and Ponies, just like most of you here! PS: I will post my ACTUAL review of the latest episode later, since a lot of you are discussing it, and I like discussing pony psych! =D PPS: Please submit your Name/code by THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1ST if you wish to play! So I have time to make brackets and stuff!
