No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

I like the comparison, except it's more like a sitcom without the painfully embarrassing/stupid moments. By that I mean... well, I just watched Modern Family for the first time today (okay, I might have an ulterior reason for writing this), watching a few episodes with my sister. And though I enjoy it, every episode has risks and antics that escalate to ridiculous heights. At the core you have interesting characters, with interesting relationships that make for a good character driven show. And Jay and Gloria are AWESOME (hello ulterior motive). However, the characters break verisimilitude when they act in a stupid behavior, and either you (a) maintain suspension of disbelief, and thus feel pain on behalf of the characters whom have thrown themselves into a humiliating situation, or (b) you lose interest because you're just waiting for the deus ex machina to fix everything. Maybe I'm being a bit extreme in this description, because it's all meant for comedy... but with MLP, you have none of that. It's a gentle cruise, while every other show on TV is trying to be a raft through river rapids. Edit: I'm watching another episode of Modern Family, and it's got none of the escalating stakes I mentioned, but... the characters on MLP act more realistic than they do on Modern Family, lol. Then again, after having seeing a bunch of episodes of Big Bang Theory, another show that features caricaturistic behavior, I got used to it. In MLP, I had to get used to the childlike tone. *shrug* It's a really good cartoon, and I'm sad I won't be able to see the new episode in 6 hours, but hopefully I can watch it when I wake up

And it is the premiere for season 2, it's like wanting to play SC2 for the first time you know? Also, I've seen enough SC2 for the last year(esp. with the actual metagame state which makes PvT so uninteresting) so I'll leave ThorZaIN vs HuK for later.

I'll probably watch Thorzain vs HuK and the season 2 premiere at the same time though, I can't miss either of them. :D

It looks AWESOME! This is the thing that hyped me the most: Do I start the game as a Filly/Colt? Yes, Players start the game as a young pony without their cutie-mark. How do I get my cutie mark? The type of jobs, events, quests, and emotions you do will have some effect on what cutie mark you get. Some cutie marks can only be obtained by the type of pony you are. After you’ve completed enough things to determine your mark you can get one. How will I grow up to a full sized pony? After you’ve gotten your cutie mark you can become a full grown pony. (We’re deciding whether or not a quest should do so.) Also, you'll be able to fly! Earth ponies and Unicorn mechanics will have trouble topping that!

What people are doing with a cartoon intended for young girls is fucking crazy, and I love it.
