ING... is also a good hidden gem. Solid romance. Oh and also il mare. The story is kind of the slow and quit type, but very enjoyable all the way through. A solid K drama is New Heart, rewatched that recently pretty good. Nothing new but very well done. Though I would say the character development happened a bit slowly. Also Empress Chun Chu was alright to me. Good objectively but it didn't suck me in until near the end. + Show Spoiler + When the deceased Prince's son becomes emporer Then it becomes pretty awesome. I know there's a lot more movies I thought were good. I'll edit in more as I think of them.

Awesome! + Show Spoiler + totally a dream sequence right? + Show Spoiler [A bittersweet life] + Was quite long ago I saw the movie and that it would just have been a dream didn't cross my mind back then, but just rewatched the ending and you might be true there. But the main thing in this movie would be love no matter if it's real or just a dream. At the time I watched it first time I imagined that the Master was his boss and him being the disciple, i'm not all too sure about it but it was just the feeling I had. Anyways the ending quote is probably one of the best endings i've ever heard. Even if it was just a dream it seems that he isn't regretting his decisions but would do it all over again. + Show Spoiler [Quote in the beginning] + One fine spring day... a disciple looked at some branches blowing in the wind. He asked his master... "Master, are the branches moving or is it the wind?" Not even glancing to where his pupil was pointing... the master smiled and said... "That which moves is neither the branches nor the wind... " "It's your heart and mind. " + Show Spoiler [Quote at the end] + One late autumn night, the disciple woke up crying. So the master asked the disciple... - "Did you have a nightmare?" - "No. " "Did you have a sad dream?" "No," said the disciple. "I had a sweet dream. " Then why are you crying so sadly? The disciple answered quietly, while wiping his tears... "Because the dream I had can't come true. " The last part of that quote really gets me every time. If you like Lee Byung Hun you guys should consider watching the drama IRIS with him and Kim Tae Hee. Definitely one of the better korean dramas made.

Here are a couple of my recommendations: Baker King Synopsis+ Show Spoiler + Kim Tak Goo is the eldest son of Goo In Jong, the president of Samhwa Enterprise, a legend in the baking industry. Although he is an extremely talented baker and seemed destined to succeed his father as president, Goo In Jong's family plotted to rob him of his inheritance because he was born to In Jong's mistress. Tak Goo's determination to become number one in the baking industry drives him to rebuild his career from scratch despite the many trials he faces. Everything about this drama is excellent. The plotline, characters, actors/actresses are simply marvelous. There's a reason why it got 50% rating on the TV charts. Queen Seon Deok Synopsis+ Show Spoiler + Deokman was born a twin but was abandoned as a baby and sent to a place far away by her father, King Jinpyeong in order to protect her from being killed by an influenced royal court lady, Mishil who tries to snatch away the throne from the royal successor. Deokman was later brought back to the Silla palace, where she joined forces with her twin sister Princess Cheonmyong to oppose Mishil. However, Mishil devised sinister plans to have the two Silla princesses exiled from the kingdom, and in a secretive battle, Princess Cheonmyong was accidentally killed. But Princess Deokman shrewdly enlisted the help of General Kim Yusin and eliminated her archenemy Mishil. She then became Queen Seon Deok, the first female ruler of the Silla kingdom. This drama is about a story of a beautiful queen, who has to give up her love to save the people and thus, leaving behind many brilliant achievements. This is one of my favorite dramas EVER. I would rank it right beside Baker King in my top 3 dramas to watch. This is quite a lengthy watch at 62 episodes (62 hours) but it has the BEST character development I have ever seen. We get to watch the young princess become more mature, developed and reasoned across her life span. There are also many phases to the story. I highly highly recommend it to anyone. Warning though, this is a historical drama. I actually cried at a point. It's filled with emotions. Bad Family Synopsis+ Show Spoiler + Na Rim (Lee Young Yoo), who came from a wealthy household, lost her family in a car accident when she was nine. After the accident, she suffered from amnesia so her uncle hired Oh Dal Gun (Kim Myung Min), an ex-ganster,to recreate a similar household with parents, sister, brother, grandparents and uncle in hopes that she would regain her memory. In a hurry, Oh Dal Gun ended up hiring all sorts of odd ball characters to act as members of Na Rim's family. None got along at the start and hilarious situation arose when all members tried to cope in front of the little girl and also to protect her from the one who caused her family's accident. Eventually they started to behave like a real family and cared for each other, proving that blood relation is not as important as a caring heart. This drama is slightly old but I found it very funny. The main character is good gangster but has to gather people to pretend to be a fake family for a newly orphaned girl. It's very easy-going and not too heavy on the emotions so it's nice to watch it. Hero Synopsis+ Show Spoiler + Hero is the story of Korea's top reporters and ordinary citizens fighting against the society elite's abuse of power. Working as a reporter for a racy tabloid called the Monday Seoul, Jin Do Hyuk uses any means necessary to get a scoop. One day, he goes to interview Jo Yong Deok, the boss of the Axe gang, who suggests that they start their own newspaper. Do Hyuk lies about the credentials of his former co-workers when he introduces them to Jo Yong Deok as potential hires for the newspaper venture. With his former co-workers on board, he is able to launch the Yongdeok Daily together with Yong Deok. But the newly hired reporters soon find themselves sucked into a huge conspiracy that could utterly ruin their lives. --Source: HanCinema Man. I'm having a hard time coming up with unique recommendations haha. I guess what separated this drama for me from others is that it was somewhat unique. This drama is about a news journalist who was working for tabloid but legitimizes himself by establishing his own newspaper company to spread justice. It's not too heavy on the drama and pretty light-hearted as well.

And imo Oldboy is far from being the best film of the trilogy, that would be Sympathy for lady vengeance.

Because it's quite long for a drama it became a bit drawn out at times but generally it was a quite nice drama to watch. I finished watching it without ever feeling bored out of my mind like I did with Miss Ripley. Just don't take the drama too serious because they used every tried to add as many ridiculous storylines as possible to keep the viewers interested.

Either way I finished watching 49 days, <3 Nam Gyuri + Show Spoiler + Sad ending tho T.T Me, Flower is looking pretty good, Lee Ji Ah is pretty qt and the drama is funny although fairly typical. I am also watching Life is Beatifull right now(also with Nam <3) which is a pretty long drama for korean standards(63 eps) but its pretty interesting, although there is one storyline I don't care about(which is the Grandmother zzzzzzzzzz) interestingly there is a Gay couple storyline, which I haven't seen in any Korean drama's so far. Tree Deep Roots is getting better by every episode, its pretty cool actually that SSK portrays a muted character.

Season 1 was a one episode made for TV movie feel. Season 2 has been pretty interesting. Only 3 episodes in but it doesn't feel like any K drama I've watched so far.

Anyone know of any other drama/series or whatever that has comedy like PTB? I'm not sure I've been watching the same drama as you guys. The characters are all very convincing, I give you that. But funny? I'm almost through Protect The Boss and there are very few legit comedy moments in there tbh. If you really want to laugh, watch Lie To Me or My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho. Or The Greatest Love if you can appreciate the greatness that is Cha Seung Won.

Oh, I'd like to clarify that this is my very first drama EVER, and I'm convinced that it was the best start since after this, I just..want to keep watching more and more lol By the way, I was actually thinking which of those watch (Lie To Me & My girlfriend is a gumiho), I have now 4 more episodes to go of PTB so yeah, meanwhile maybe you guys can tell me which one you liked the most? :D
