And watching When a Man Loves right now, I like the idea of the situation and what not, but the main girl character is really unreasonable sometimes.. It gave me the same feeling when I was watching Miss Ripley.

The 2013 Sun Woo told the 1993 Min Young to stay away from 1993 Sun Woo because he'll die on their wedding day, hence ruining her life. The 1993 Sun Woo doesn't know that his brother dies so he can't prevent it from happening in the present. But he was told by Min Young that the 2013 him died in the past. And he knows that the 2013 Sun Woo tried to save his father but failed at doing so. So because of these two pieces of info, he decides to keep it simple. So after the death of his brother, he waited twenty years (until 2032) to use that one incense to go back in time to save his brother's life (the one that his dead brother had in his hand, the 2013 Sun Woo used it to get the other incense sticks). Hence why he said 'long time no see' to his brother at the end. Of course there are other interpretations of the ending.

It took me a day to get over the ending (it fits, it was just like WTF.... K...). I'm fighting myself from reading these recent spoilers. Is IRIS2 worth watching? Specifically is the ending going to be a) open ended or b) standard disappointment. I hate to watch 20 episodes of stuff for the ending to leave a bad taste again. T.T I thought the IRIS ending was brilliant. But that may only be me haha. IRIS 2 is defs not worth watching unless you were dying to watch it ever since you watched IRIS all those years ago. Family Book of Gu is really decent imo, can't go wrong with Lee Seung Gi and Suzy :D.

So I watch a decent amount of kdramas but there has always been one genre I could never get into.... History or Period Dramas. So just looking for suggestions for people's favorite period or historic dramas. TY TY

A really decent one would be "Moon embraces the Sun" because afaik, it's probably one of the more popular history ones. There have been others such as Shin Min Ah's newish drama, "Arang and the Magistrate" but I'll admit after 16ish episodes I stopped because the typical dragging on of drama just killed it for me. "Dr. Jin" was also okay, Park Min Young just too good :D. But again this was slightly boring. I guess those are the few I can recommend but yeah.

If you just want a drama with time travel in it than Rooftop Prince and Nine are definitely the best two.

Period dramas are dramas that are set in traditional time period. I'm surprised you've never heard of the phrase before. I thought it was pretty common.

Don't know if majority of ppl here purely watch Korean movies/dramas, but I just watched Taiyo No Uta and finished 1 Litre of Tears recently, and man were they tear-jerkers. Anyway, start marathoning "That Winter" soon. And to the people who watched "Iris 2", does it offer any insight to the motives and shit towards the ending of "Iris". If so, that's enough for me to get into it. God "Iris" ending pissed me off so much.
