"Godless? Why, Aeron, I am the godliest man ever to raise sail! You serve one god, Damphair, but I have served ten thousand. From Ib to Asshai, when men see my sails, they pray" Pls D&D, give me that line

Pls D&D, give me that line They are probably going to butcher it: "Godless? Why, Aeron, I am the godliest man ever to raise sail! YARRRR I SERVE THE ONLY REAL GOD, CAPTAIN CRUNCH"

Just reminds me that Cersei's walk of shame isn't nearly bad enough. They should've flayed her along the way. And yet I keep reading.

Knowing what's going to happen makes reading the first book even more painful. The Starks are all such darn decent people, and you know exactly what Ned's missed opportunities to defeat the Lannisters will lead to.. Why did Ned have to trust little finger? Why didn't he take up Renly's offer to butcher the Lannisters in their sleep? Why couldn't he swallow his honor for a moment and just cut of Cersei's fucking head while he had the chance... Just reminds me that Cersei's walk of shame isn't nearly bad enough. They should've flayed her along the way. And yet I keep reading. Ned never trusted Littlefinger. There are several instances in his chapters where he outright thinks to himself that there is no one he can trust. He knows he can't trust Littlefinger, and he doesn't. But having turned down Renly and still wishing to do the "right thing", he has no other choice. No one else to turn to.

Sure sure sure, we all know why he went to Littlefinger. But he was a weak player in the Game of Thrones: he was both predictable, and gave his enemies ample space to maneuvre (allowing Cersei to roam free was utter folly). And yes, we say that with 20/20 hindsight. As I was reading it, I was somewhat incredulous that this would work out the way he wanted, but you. hope. so. badly (at least the first time). And then he gets arrested, thrown in a black cell and eventually has his head lopped off. It's some impressive writing.

Honestly, the only one I have any hope for is Rickon. But maybe he has already been eaten in an orgy of Skagg cannibalism. Arya will be a great assassin, but she is "no one" now. I have the sneaking feeling that Bran is being turned to the dark side. I can't bring myself to trust Bloodraven or the Children of the Forest, and I feel the show is foreshadowing Littlefinger betray Sansa in the books too, ending her story ignominously. Jon will be revived, but I doubt he will ever be Jon Snow again.

But yes, it is tragic nonetheless. :-(

As far as I know, that was from an audition from an actress that someone uploaded. Nothing you can do against that. Which also means that this may or may not be actually happening in the show.
