He is climbing to become my favorite character, kinda like Tyrion and Jaime would be combined. D'awww I can't wait for episode 8. Teh reactions will be amazing. What?? Oberyn dies? :O

Too bad the director had to work with that poor writing, because otherwise he's done a stellar job. It was bad, but I disagree. The shit where they do typical cheezy fantasy stuff is the worst. Jon being in false danger has been the recurring one, but the prize has to go to the absurdity when they made it to the top of the wall in "the climb". Princess Bride was more reserved about their use of schmaltz and that movie was tongue in cheek. I like to think they've been reasonably slapped for their worst offenses: ![[image loading]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/timeline/dddb59ca3829ca285757e0c86384646e.png) ...but I know people blame mother's day for the sharp dips after some of the most painfully weak episodes. To that I ask why mothers day was called off in 2011 and 2012. I'm really not sure if you're serious about people not watching this episode because of some bad scenes, or of mother's day not being the one blatantly obvious reason for the rating dip..
No, I just like to think so wishfully because they happen to line up so well. It wouldn't cause that kind of dip. It just isn't mother's day either, because mother's day happened in 2011-12 and didn't cause a dip.
They are not bad scenes though. They are terrible scenes that would easily lead to gg for the show if they happened with much frequency. It'd just be some fantasy TV show at that point, as we all know how well those do.

I like the theory brought up in the other thread on Tyrion's trial.
I really wonder why Tyrion didn't pick Jamie. I don't really remember, did he want to pick Jamie but Jamie wouldn't do it? Or did Tyrion simply didn't want to put Jamie between Tywin and himself.

Bleh, I forgot to actually say the theory! The theory was that surely Tywin wouldn't want to kill Jamie just to kill Tyrion.

I actually really liked it as well. It seemed unlike Tyrion not to think of it too. Tywin can't afford to lose both his sons and heirs so he has to rig it in some way to make Jaime win the trial by combat.

Epic Jaime vs Ser Pounce showdown.

It is easier in the books because kingsguard can't drop the cloak (kingsguard defend the king, can't fight against him), no idea how they are going to explain it in the show, probably have oberyn show up right away
|
Oh yeah, I forgot the plaintiff was "The Crown" and not "Cersei". In that case it makes sense that it was never an option in the book.
|
It was more to do with the red viper offering to fight for tyrion. He didn't really choose anyone.

Tywin disowned Jaime, and never made any deal to spare Tyrion in exchange for Jaime leaving the Kings Guard. Also Tywin would be more likely to command Jaime not to fight if he cared, and disobeying Tywin and expecting him to reward that with mercy is a stretch at best. The idea that there is "no way" Tywin would lose both of his heirs is entirely false because in the books he does lose both heirs by disowning Jaime and convicting Tyrion of murder.

Another dumb question, why did Ramsey show up to the fight super bloodied already? Is it implied that he had some motherfucking rough sex with that girl or did he just kill her when he was finished?^^
|
He could have been killing iron born too? I guess we wont know if the other outcomes are true until next week.
The blood didnt look like he was cut and came from someone elses blood

So either REALLY rough sex or it mean to imply he killed that girl and she fought back. Of course it is not a realistic wound pattern if it is from a fight with the girl, but I dont expect them to be realistic there anyway.
