Best thing to spawn from this episode thus far. Everyone finally realizes the metaphor for Dany and Slaver's Bay. They can hate on her just like I do. :D | ||

It's just her character being like that, she's not a good fighter leader or cunning or smart, she's just charismatic. And I like her because all characters in this series are all grey and if not grey, downright evil(like ramsay). Characters like brienne, sam, dany are so scarcely present in this world. | ||

In the show however, I can't help but find Dany absolutely obnoxious. Her line "I will do what queens do. I will rule" is delivered with such haughtiness... It made me sick. I'm sure it's voluntary, Dany has had this smugness to her for a while in the show now, but it just irks me to no end. Most of what she's accomplished comes from the support she has, and from being a Targaryen, which is what allowed her to hatch the three dragons. So yeah, when it comes down to it, book or show, she has luck to thank for her success. That's why I'm sure her death will be quite horrible, this is GRRM we're talking about. The rest of the episode was cool. It did feel fast. I was very confused by the opening scene, and the dialogue between Cersei and Margaery. Cersei's face at the end pretty much tells us she means none of what she's said, and that she wishes she could strangle her right there and then, so that was okay. Jon's fight was good. The actor who played Karl was great, and I liked the fact that Jon wasn't able to defeat him. Plus one of Craster's wives stabbing him is just total karma. I was actually surprised by the sword coming through his mouth, I was expecting it through his heart or something. Quite brutal. Bran warging Hodor to kill a man was a turning point. In the books we get several instances of Bran warging too much, and enjoying it too much, especially eating flesh while in his direwolf. I hope that bit will come back in the next episode somehow. On a side note, a bit disappointed by Locke's death. He was a cool character, and the actor was great. I was expecting more of him, but I'm pretty sure that was the writers' plan all along. They made him look like he was going to play a great part, then boom. How very GRRM of them. edit: Also, the actor playing Lysa is nothing short of genius. She portrays her so well. You can just taste the madness. | ||

Fixed that for you. Charisma she might have, but if she wasn't so awe strikingly beautiful according to Martin's description or just as importantly a TARGARYEN it wouldn't mean shit. Nothing that Dany has she earned, it's all been given to her. She's just lucky. | ||

She was sold to be a wife to a Khal and it would have stayed like that if SHE didn't change her position there. Then it was SHE who managed to unlock the power that gave birth to dragons. Her brother had same power, but he could not do it. After that things do get lucky for her, but she still makes these decisions like cheating the Unsulied merchant and taking the city as the result, turning the Second Sons and the other company to her side and so on. | ||
