Their father seems a lot more likely to play a part imo, probably in Sam's storyline. Martin loves to make contradictions like with Leyton, who is rich and powerful but chooses isolation. He always does stuff like this, for example making a famous knight like Jaime lose his swordhand and making Loras, who can have any girl he wants, gay. I think this kind of character design makes the series so much better than anything else out there.

Same if they completely cutout the "fake" deaths of Bran and Rickon. They will have the 2 boys tarred and hanged at winterfell. It was in a clip from one of the Theon hype videos.

But it is unclear whether or not they will meet up again (and it would be pretty plot breaking if they don't in one way or another).

Pretty sure that's going to happen. In the show, Qhorin asks what the wildlings would do if they found him. He's not on camera when Ygritte says that Mance would take Jon, but I think they're going to go ahead with the Jon-Qhorin fight.

Remember in that in ACoK the reason we don't hear much from Ygritte is because her and Jon don't really get to spend any time together. They capture her, he lets her go and continues the journey with Qhorin. Him and Ygritte don't really socialize till after he kills him and turns his cloak. The show is clearly taking a different path.

+ Show Spoiler + Well... at least Arya is doing sort of well... and I started to like the Dany storyline(s) much more in ADwD than in the books before. Tyrion is great as always. Oh and: way too few chapters on Bran. ![]()

Specifically, some big things like didn't Dany willingly go to the House of the Undying in the books? Also, was there ever a King of Qarth in the books? I don't remember any of the merchant princes of Qarth being assassinated either.
