I think they are really trying to make this a good show but there's a thin line between awesome and cheesy.

Somehow it doesnt work out for them.. I dont know why exactly. Because in other shows they do stuff not too differently but they turn out way better and more believable.

maybe they try too hard.. maybe the acting is not always right.. maybe the story is not always consistent. Who knows.. I just turn a blind eye on some stuff and try to enjoy the show.

Lot to like and dislike about this ep. The intro with the car boot was great. But some of the later scenes with Beth and Daryl felt a bit try hard. Looks like the rest of this season won't have much of a concerted focus;.just following the crew in the prison battle aftermath. It'd be good to have a concerted focus in the near future story wise.

I haven't minded these eps lately. They're somewhat reflective of the world the characters live in. There's a lot of meandering and no meaningful direction. This isn't a bad thing for now but for the sake of entertainment I'm guessing the story will pick up again next season, with this one setting up the plot.

Man, just rewatched episodes 1 and 2 of season 1. Such a huge contrast compared to this week's POS. How the fuck are they not getting attacked by Walkers as soon as they walk into the house, but instead they don't come out until the clock ticks?

have you been watching the show? Undisturbed walkers "hibernate" after not seeing prey, until awoken by noise. Like that's why they always knock and bang around when sweeping houses, so no hidden walkers trip them up.

The first half of season two had an aimless hodgepodge of meaningless moralizing and crimped faces. I think that time and parts of season three may have conditioned viewers to treat the slower episodes with a - much a warranted - sense of skepticism. That said, I really enjoyed this episode. Showing a group systematically clearing a building is only viewable so many times, I'm glad the writers are taking these repetitive necessities to showcase different facets of each character. The whole scene at the country club was certainly clear in some of its ideas, but had lots of tidbits that play to each viewer. I liked trying to figure out what happened, who died first, etc.

Beth's speech at the end was great because it had honesty, and sounded like an exhausted human, a little bit drunk, trying to make sense of reality. There's no clear Aesop message as the writers used to promulgate.

this episode was a pile of shit. they spent 50 minutes portraying the most generic and uninspired story telling thus far. we get it, I promise, we get it.

Yes, another boring episode. Apart from the bad writing theres one more point thats really disturbing me with the show: The zombies got totally ridiculous.
The szene when darryl and beth hid in the trunk annoyed me because its the dumbest idea ever to trap yourself with no chance of escape when there are lots of zombies right behind you. But of course, the zombies didnt perceive them albeit standing right there next to the car. We've seen them sensing humans before from greater distances and now all of a sudden theyre not able to do that anymore.
Also in earlier season, zombies were able to move faster, atleast jogging pace, now they are so damn slow you gotta feel sorry for them.

maybe just maybe they stink so bad they stink like walkers already or the car tires and swampy stink smell harder? Anyway as long as these zombies can hear something they immediately change targets..

That last episode had a few of these... Crazy bad lol.

I just got the Walking Dead Season 1 game on steam for some euros and i actually enjoy that story more than the show here.

Very immersive and intense. I know im late to the party but my motherboard broke so i can only play on my crappy laptop for a while. Cant even play starcraft because of too much lag.

Didnt expect it to be that good honestly.

The game (imo) kicks the shit out of the show. In the game, I actually felt legitimately sad at the very end. The relationships between the characters was believable and completely palpable. You didn't just have these characters that were very artificial and boring; they felt organic.

The show actually makes me happy when certain characters die (Shane, Andrea, etc.). The game made me feel sad and a little worried about who would be next.

Yeah, the game is much better. You making the decisions gets you more involved, there's no unnecessary drama and the writing is miles ahead of the show.

I actually picked the game up again for a while today so its a coincidence you guys are chatting about it. I played before for the first hour or two but it didnt really hook me. I started playing today and the game had me after a few minutes lol. The start of episode 2 was amazing in particular and i didnt get much further then + Show Spoiler +

the farm and shooting the bandit / not bandit crazy chick with crossbow

but i plan to play alot more, i felt so fucking invested in the characters from the get-go, considering i started playing prior to the climax of chapter 1 i urge people to at least play until the beginning of chapter 2 before passing judgement.
