oh and I hate french actors... cotillard.. I mean, at first it seems like a good sf movie, then it shifts towards a dark impossible mission / charlie's angels, then it turns to a urban / corporation thriller, then to some emotional last action hero action movie... I mean .. come on !

Have you ever dreamed a really boring dream, just hoping the night would end so you can wake up? Kind of feel the same with Inception although it was worth watching. I just dont like so much mindless action. I think it was worth watching Inception for the sole purpose of watching South Park's "Insheeption" episode that was released a few weeks ago, some good moments there (and some bad ofcourse when south park tries too hard to diss the movie). Inception was kinda thought heavy and requires some effort to understand, so it will definitely not appeal to those who just want to unwind after a hard day's work. Its a thinking man's movie, so naturally those who are not as interested, like you, will feel bored. Anyway, I think it was pretty entertaining, and Chris Nolan was quite detailed with his mind twisters.

If she kills herself she might be really killnig herself or possibly getting back to her real life earlier. So overall that was a huge problem and plothole which ruined the movie for me. It was still a cool concept with good character/story/graphics but the whole reason the wife killed herself made the entire story stupid. And the resolution was kinda shitty too with "youre just a shade" blah blah blah. I suggest you go watch the movie again and THEN come back to discuss it. You obviously had been sleeping or brain-panned through 90% of the movie. Let me try to help you out a little bit. Leo DiCap (Cobb) and his wife Mal, are two researchers. They were researching the dream state of humans, and during this research, Cobb and Mal ventured too deep into their subconscious, hence landing in the dream world of Limbo. Over time, Mal began to despair and deluded herself into thinking that limbo is the real world, and refuses to wake up. (Waking up is done by dying n the dream). So Cobb performs an Inception on her (hence the movie's name), and what he did was basically convinced her that the limbo world is not real, and finally got her to commit suicide with him on the train tracks. The inception was done by Cobb spinning the top in the safe in limbo. However, even after they woke up, Mal continued to believe the incepted idea that the world is a dream world. So, she committed suicide to try to "wake" from the real world. Obviously, that got her killed for good. Hence, Cobb's guilt throughout the movie.

Thanks, I never understood the movie evebthough I watched it both in english and in my native language. I just was too lazy to think. They should've make it a bit easier imo

I really liked the plot, also had no trouble understanding it at all, don't know why people say it's confusing. I loved the concept of performing an inception. The fact that it has to be a subtle idea planted into the subjects mind, which has to be interpreted by the subject instead of forced upon it. The scoring and sound effects in this film were absolutely awesome. Cinematography was great as well (With many things I asked myself: How the fuck did they shoot that?) As a matter of fact I'm going to watch it again right now.

The movie was pretty much straight forward in every aspect.

Well, as much as I despise her presence on a screen, she kind of proved to the whole world on the other side of the atlantic how retarded the french "mainstream" gang is, with her famous public tv statement right after beeing decorated by US, claiming 9/11 was domestic conspiracy. I mean, beeing the famest french actress currently in the world, you'd think she thinks before actually talking. But I guess she's no actress and no more than a parrot, only able to repeat what she heard before.

The movie was pretty much straight forward in every aspect. There are thinking men, and then there are thinking men. The movie has an incredibly complex plot structure. Bad directing can easily turn it into a confusing shitfest. Nolan worked 10 years to get the movie to be as smooth and easy to comprehend as possible. If you are trying to appreciate and catch all the nuances that went into the design of the story as well as follow the plot, it can be very exhausting. If all you did was follow the plot then of course you don't need to spend much effort thinking. You're just standing in the shallow end of the pool.

When you die you come back to life, and you need to get Karma. Duhhhh! Stupid monks, every detail is given to them, there's little to no thinking needed. If they can't understand what their religion is then I don't know what to say. Religion is pretty much straight forward in every aspect.

But you really cant make a "thinking men" movie for the crowds, if its too complex and unpredictable it will confuse the general viewer, hence it wont be liked and it wont get mainstream. Inception is a good movie that is trying really hard to be great, people are giving it too much credit. I liked social network a lot more. But then again, I'm a Fincher fanboy

It's not a great movie. Characters aren't too interesting, not that exiting, and the wannabe "leave it to the viewer" ending is just annoying clichè. A few holes in the story, I think they focused too much on the idea of inception and too little on character development. Thing that stands out the most is the way Ellen Pages' character suddenly is the god of the dreamworld and knows more about it than anyone else, and the viewer get no clues as to why this is.
