Skipped over this movie a hundred times because of my disliking of Colin Farrell, but on a day when i was bored i decided to watch it, hoping that Ralph Fiennes would make it worth watching. What i wasn't expecting was one of the most well executed dark humor movies i've ever seen.
Filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost document a story involving Ariel's brother, Nev, a 24-year-old New York-based photographer, and Abby, from rural Michigan who contacts Nev via Facebook, asking for permission to make a painting from one of his photographs.
That actually sounds really lame. Can you give some more info about why you like it?

Honestly, the tagline on the poster is 'dont let anyone tell you what it is' for a reason. To explain the movie would be to ruin it. It is an hour and a half that you will definitely not regret.
Usually when movies say that it is because they want to stop people from spreading the word that it's a painfully boring movie. Telling me that I "will definitely not regret" it and that it is "contemporary, thought provoking, and true" isn't doing the job. As of right now, I remain unconvinced.

Give me one example of when that has ever been the case.

I am sorry I haven't swayed you because I feel you're missing out. That being said, I dont actually know your tastes, so stay unconvinced, I am sure somebody with a slightly less negative attitude and open-mind will take a look and experience this film.
ok i didn't see anyone post this movie, and it definitely deserves a watch, if only to listen to the soundtrack. A very serious, dramatic coming of age movie, I can only explain it as, Incredibly inspiring.
Into The Wild
based on the book by jon krakaeur, also very good.
Pukajac do Nieba Bram (Knockin' on Heaven's Door) was ok. Not great, but certainly enjoyable. It's not that it was bad at all, it just lacked anything that really made it special, made it stand out amongst other movies.
Since decent horror movies are hard to find once you've watched all the classics, I was surprised by how much I liked this one. It is genuinely scary (no cheap jump moments), the acting is good, and there's a pretty good twist. If you have netflix you can watch it online.

The movie actually looks pretty promising imo, since you don't need much effects and stuff like that to make a good movie. The story just needs to be good and the actors need to be able to bring that story to life. There are 2 example that come to my mind instantly when thinking about such movies and that would be "12 Angy Men" and "The Man From Earth". I try to watch as many movies as possible so I can define what's utter crap and what's not.
-Layercake (A Pre-Bond Daniel Craig as a drug dealer. Awesome)
-Michael Collins (The Irish Bravehear?)
-Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (may not be a hidden gem, but I'm a fan)
-City of God (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: A story about the history of gang warfare in a Brazillian slum. Unbelievably good)
-In Bruges (Mentioned above I think, but definitely worth a watch if you like dark humor)
-The Wind That Shakes the Barely (another movie re: The Irish Civil War/War for Independence)
-Above The Rim (Can't go wrong with Tupac in a starring role (the movie is about basketball))
-Goal! (A great movie about a Mexican soccer player who moves to America only to be recruited by a Scotsman who plays for the Brits)
-Memento (hell as crazy is movie this. An awesome psychological thriller)
-Thank You For Smoking (An awesome satirical movie about a lobbyist)
Sorry if this is more than you were loking for, but you got me convinced to check through my collection, and these were all movies I recommend to people I've never really met, since I can usually assume they haven't seen them.
