I don't follow 4chan at all but I've heard about them ruining lives for a lot less than this. http://partyvan.info/wiki/Operation_IslamichanO__O God bless Anon This could turn into a huge shitshow. They seem to say they are targetting all muslim sites, not just extremist ones. Obviously it's bad to attack random sites just because they are muslim. As for the extremist sites, attacking them may not be the greatest idea either. The reason that governemnts often don't shut them down is that they can spy on them easily and see what the groups are up to.

An Islamic website is targeting the creators of the television series South Park, after an episode that aired last week depicted the Prophet Mohammed disguised in a bear suit, CNN reported on Sunday.
The website, Revolutionmuslim.com, was the subject of a CNN investigation last year over its support for "jihad" or holy war against the West and for praising al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden."
then..
An online image board is targeting the adherents of the religion of Islam, after an online post that was posted last week had content that suggested that the Muslims were not happy with their religious prophet being ridiculed, CNN reported on Sunday.
The website, 4chan.org, was the subject of a CNN investigation last year over its support for "internet hate machine" or holy war for the Japanese culture and for praising Moot.

The episode tries to hide Mohammed (the characters talk about how he can't be seen) and they still get threats.. They did not show Mohammed..

Why can't they make fun of Islam?

because some islamic people dont have enough humour

I don't know if it's been discussed already, in the first part they didn't beep out the Mohamed name but in the 2nd one they did. I'm pretty sure there was some pressure on them to do it, but I didn't think they would back out of it, considering their track record.

How are you guys watching this? SPS says the episode can't be aired and every time Comedy Central has the episode for "201" they air another episode from this season

In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it.

So wait, as of now, episode 1406 will never be shown again?
|
Isn't Jesus actually mentioned more times in the Quran and is also considered a prophet in Islam? So why the fuck would they allow Jesus to be uncensored while censoring Muhammad?

Because not all religions are the same? In islam, murder is permissible when someone produces any visual representation of mohammed (i think..). Some people take this shit really seriously, and they are willing to sacrifice their LIFE for it. And with how westerners have treated muslims, I don't really blame them for being extra sensitive on this issue right now. Of course most muslims are impartial to this issue, but out of the billions of muslims a few are willing to kill to secure a spot in the heavens instead of having to endure the harsh dissonance that westerners currently have the upper hand when their holy book professes just the opposite.
edit: But on a more serious note, maybe trey parker and matt stone do deserve to get bombed for how criminially bad that episode was. I mean, is it really worth it to get into this shit w/ muslim extremists for those awful fucking jokes? Come on now..

Okay. Yes, westerners have been doing that. But when a westerner makes a joke about Muslims, he's usually referring to the ones that are bombing us, i.e. the fundamentalists, the same ones we're making fun of.
